Cast machine stretch film for pallet unitization is produced on high-speed chill-roll lines in which the primary processing conflict is the simultaneous demand for high retained load on the pallet and sufficient puncture resistance at web thicknesses below 20 µm. Clearflex VLDPE MQ B0, with a nominal density of 0.900 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 1.0 g/10 min when determined under ISO 1133-1:2022 at 190 °C with 2.16 kg, is introduced at 15 wt% to 35 wt% of total polymer mass into C8-LLDPE-rich formulations to lower modulus and improve dart impact without diminishing the cling force necessary for pallet wrap. Compliance for food-contact stretch films is assessed under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 with an overall migration limit of 10 mg/dm², and under U.S. FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for the olefin polymer base; REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 applies to the grade as a substance preparation in the European Union. On industrial cast film lines, single-screw extruders with 30:1 to 36:1 L/D barrels, barrier screws, and Maddock mixing sections deliver melt temperatures between 240 °C and 260 °C through die gaps of 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm onto chill rolls held at 20 °C to 28 °C; line speeds of 350 m/min to 650 m/min require air gaps between die exit and chill-roll surface of 8 mm to 20 mm to suppress draw resonance and excessive neck-in. Finished rollstock is supplied as machine-grade pallet wrap in 12 µm to 23 µm thickness, pre-stretched hand film, and ventilated or reinforced pallet wrap.
Multi-layer heavy-duty sack and side-gusset bag structures require seal-through-contamination resistance, puncture resistance, and dart impact strength in a single blown film web. In these coextruded structures, MQ B0 is blended at 20 wt% to 40 wt% in the sealant layer or at 15 wt% to 25 wt% in the core layer, where its lower melting peak relative to C4-LLDPE reduces heat-seal initiation temperature and stabilizes interlayer adhesion after gusseting. The regulatory instruments applied to such packaging include Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 for overall migration, U.S. FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for the olefin polymer food-contact base, and EN 13430:2004 for packaging waste material recovery, although the latter is a system-level claim and cannot be assigned to the grade alone. Production-scale blown film lines for these laminates run die diameters from 150 mm to 450 mm, die gaps from 1.2 mm to 2.2 mm, blow-up ratios from 2.2:1 to 3.0:1, frost line heights from 500 mm to 900 mm, and melt temperatures from 190 °C to 220 °C in MQ B0-containing layers; melt temperatures above 260 °C are avoided because the lower-density phase can initiate gel formation in the screw root. Release specifications for these films are usually verified by ASTM D1709A for dart impact and ASTM D1922 for Elmendorf tear. The resulting articles are shipped as 25 kg to 50 kg valve sacks, pet food bags, heavy-duty shipping sacks, and compression packaging for mineral wool or insulation batts.

Extrusion lamination of oriented polyester or biaxially oriented polypropylene with a polyolefin sealant web places a premium on low-temperature sealing initiation and melt stability at narrow die gaps. In extrusion coating and lamination, Clearflex VLDPE MQ B0 is typically let down at 30 wt% to 60 wt% of the sealant blend with the balance consisting of LDPE or C4-LLDPE, lowering seal initiation temperature by roughly 8 °C to 12 °C relative to an LDPE-only sealant layer and improving caulkability around wrinkles in the converter. Food-contact laminates are evaluated under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and U.S. FDA 21 CFR 177.1520, with good manufacturing practice for the converting step governed by Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006; the final structure is also tested for overall migration at 10 mg/dm² on the food-contact side. Typical extrusion coating lines employ 90 mm to 150 mm single-screw extruders with 28:1 to 33:1 L/D, flat dies from 1,200 mm to 2,800 mm, melt temperatures between 260 °C and 280 °C for adhesion to primed oriented polyester or polypropylene, coat weights from 12 g/m² to 20 g/m², and cooling roll temperatures from 12 °C to 18 °C to quench the sealant web before slitting. Converted outputs include lidding film for fresh-cut produce, flexible sachets, and inner sealant webs for stand-up pouches.
Surface protection film produced for stainless steel, pre-painted aluminum, PMMA sheet, and polycarbonate glazing uses a low-modulus skin that conforms to micro-roughness while maintaining clean low-velocity peel at the end of the protected period. MQ B0 is incorporated at 10 wt% to 25 wt% in the skin layer of a three-layer cast film, with LLDPE or LDPE in the carrier layer; higher loadings above 25 wt% can raise adhesion build after outdoor weathering and are generally avoided for long-term masking. Compliance is dominated by RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II and REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 SVHC restrictions, with mechanical verification performed under ASTM D3330/D3330M for peel adhesion and ISO 2409 for cross-cut testing of the coated substrate after film removal. The production route uses cast film lines with 25:1 to 30:1 L/D extruders, die temperatures of 230 °C to 250 °C, chill rolls at 22 °C to 25 °C, and corona treatment to 36 mN/m to 42 mN/m on the exposed surface for printability; web tracking is controlled by edge guides because the MQ B0-containing skin layer reduces overall web modulus. Final product forms are 30 µm to 70 µm protective masking film for metal coil, aluminum composite panel, and appliance surfaces.
In polypropylene-based thermoplastic compounds, a 10 wt% to 25 wt% loading of Clearflex VLDPE MQ B0 acts as a polyolefinic impact modifier when low-temperature ductility is required without major loss of melt processability in injection molding. The addition ratio is set between 10 wt% and 25 wt% of total polymer mass; below 10 wt% the Charpy notched impact improvement at −20 °C is often insufficient, while above 25 wt% the flexural modulus falls below levels required for rigid appliance components. Compounding is performed on co-rotating twin-screw extruders with 36:1 to 44:1 L/D, side feeding of polypropylene pellets, melt temperatures from 200 °C to 230 °C, and screw designs that use kneading blocks followed by comb mixers to disperse the low-density phase into the PP matrix without forming continuous VLDPE domains. Test standards for the compound include ISO 527-2 for tensile modulus, ISO 179-1/1eA for Charpy impact, and ISO 75-2 for heat deflection temperature; if the end article is used in food-contact appliance interiors, the final compound must be separately verified under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 or U.S. FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 because the PP matrix changes migration characteristics relative to the VLDPE alone. Moulded articles produced from the compound include appliance housings, storage containers, and automotive interior brackets where low-temperature ductility and low gloss are required.
Agricultural silage bags and greenhouse cladding films require a different balance of oxygen permeability, tear propagation resistance, and UV-stabilizer compatibility than packaging films. MQ B0 is combined at 30 wt% to 50 wt% in the middle or outer layer of a coextruded blown film, with LLDPE or LDPE as the structural layer; loadings above 50 wt% are generally avoided in monolayer bubble configurations because low melt tension can trigger bubble instability and uneven frost line geometry. Regulatory references include EN 13206:2017 for greenhouse covering films, ISO 527-3 for tensile properties, ASTM D1709A for dart impact, and ASTM D3985 for oxygen transmission rate; the grade must be combined with a hindered amine light stabilizer package suitable for agricultural exposure, and migration or food-contact compliance is not claimed for these films. Processing is carried out on blown film lines with blow-up ratios from 2.0:1 to 3.0:1, die gaps from 1.4 mm to 2.5 mm, melt temperatures from 180 °C to 210 °C, and lower screw speeds than LDPE-rich film because the VLDPE phase reduces melt viscosity at low shear rates. Film structures exiting the blown film line are converted into greenhouse cladding, silage bags, and silage stretch film in thicknesses from 25 µm to 100 µm.
