On extrusion blow moulding lines configured with a reciprocating screw and a 45 mm to 75 mm barrier screw, Sinochem Quanzhou HDPE QZF144 is charged as the monolayer wall resin for narrow-neck detergent, household-cleaner, and water-based agrochemical bottles. A starting production formulation for a 1 L pour bottle comprises 96.4 wt% QZF144, 2.8 wt% white titanium dioxide masterbatch with 60 wt% pigment loading, 0.5 wt% silicone-based slip additive, and 0.3 wt% antioxidant masterbatch. The dry blend is gravimetrically dosed at the feed throat; feed-zone temperature is 35–45 °C, compression-zone temperature 180–195 °C, metering-zone temperature 195–205 °C, and die head temperature 180–200 °C. Melt temperature at the die exit is kept between 190 °C and 208 °C and measured with an immersion thermocouple; this window controls parison elongation consistency. Blow-up ratio is set at 2.2:1 to 3.0:1 for cylindrical bottles, and mould temperature is maintained at 8–18 °C in bottle-contact zones to suppress surface haze. Cycle time on a two-cavity shuttle blow moulder ranges from 12 s to 18 s for a 1 L bottle. Axial parison programming with a 10-point wall-thickness profile is required; label-panel minimum wall thickness is 0.45 mm, while pinch-off zones are validated by a 1.2 m drop test per GB/T 4857.17 or ASTM D2463-15 Procedure B. Food-contact compliance for this segment is limited to grades specifically declared under FDA 21 CFR 177.1520(c) and EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011; for non-food household chemicals, REACH Annex XVII restrictions on phthalates and heavy metals apply. Terminal parts include 250 mL to 5 L bottles for liquid detergent, laundry softener, surface cleaner, wet-wiper solution, and water-based agrochemical formulations.
In six-layer coextrusion blow moulding of solvent-based industrial chemicals, QZF144 is specified as the outer virgin skin and inner virgin skin, while central regrind, tie, and barrier resins complete the structure. The layer configuration is HDPE skin/regrind/tie/EVOH/tie/HDPE skin with a thickness distribution of 15/25/2/4/2/52 % of total wall. EVOH with 32 mol% ethylene content is selected for aromatic solvent barrier, and the tie layer is a maleic anhydride-grafted HDPE with a graft level of 0.8–1.2 wt%. Melt temperatures are 200–215 °C for the QZF144 skins, 203–213 °C for EVOH, and 198–210 °C for the tie layer; die temperature is held at 205–210 °C. The die gap is set between 2.0 mm and 3.5 mm for a 10 L jerrycan, and the blow-up ratio is 2.5:1. Mould clamping force per cavity is 180–220 kN. Adhesion of the coextruded structure is tested by peel according to ASTM D1876; a peel value below 2 N/15 mm at the tie/EVOH interface triggers line-stop and die-gap correction. Resultant 5 L to 20 L containers are type-approved under UN 3H1 for liquid dangerous goods packaging when wall thickness, leak-tightness, and drop tests meet ADR 6.1.5.2.4. For food contact, EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 requires an overall migration limit of 10 mg/dm² using 10% ethanol, 3% acetic acid, and 20% ethanol simulants; the use of QZF144 is permissible only when the producer’s batch declaration covers food-contact grade. Terminal products include barrier jerrycans for aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, methyl ester-based products, and liquid fertilizers.
Compounding plants that process post-industrial HDPE regrind in excess of 60 wt% introduce QZF144 as a virgin let-down resin to restore melt strength and drop-impact toughness in non-food injection-moulded articles. A trials formulation for structural storage crates uses 70 wt% washed post-industrial HDPE flake with a melt flow rate of 0.6 g/10 min at 190 °C/2.16 kg, 21 wt% QZF144, 5 wt% calcium carbonate masterbatch with 80 wt% filler loading, 3 wt% carbon black masterbatch, and 1 wt% processing lubricant. The mixture is fed to a Coperion ZSK 58 MC18 twin-screw extruder with a 52:1 L/D ratio, run at 300–450 min⁻¹ screw speed and barrel profile 160/180/190/195/195/190/180 °C. The melt temperature is maintained below 210 °C by adding filler through a side feeder at barrel 7 to reduce viscous heating. Vacuum degassing at -0.08 MPa is applied at barrel 9. Pellets are formed on an underwater pelletizer with die-face cutter speed 1900–2500 min⁻¹. Resulting pellets are tested for tensile yield stress per ISO 527-2/1A at 4 mm thickness; values below 21 MPa trigger reformulation or a reduction in regenerated flake. Formulators should not blend QZF144 with propylene-dominant regrind above 5 wt% because separate-phase polypropylene domains reduce environmental stress crack resistance and produce delamination at gate regions. Compliance for non-food compound under REACH Article 33 and EU Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II restricts cadmium, lead, mercury, and hexavalent chromium to no more than 100 mg/kg per homogeneous material. Terminal products include structural crates, industrial pallets, outdoor furniture slats, and underground cable covers.

Multi-cavity injection moulding of tamper-evident closures uses a high-flow HDPE base resin with an MFR of 8–15 g/10 min at 190 °C/2.16 kg; QZF144 is dry-blended at 15–25 wt% to raise environmental stress crack resistance without reducing screw recovery excessively. The blend is mixed in a high-intensity paddle mixer at 200 min⁻¹ for 90 s; batch-to-batch variation is controlled by melt flow rate checks per ISO 1133-1:2022 Procedure A. Moulding is performed on a 96-cavity hot-runner mould with valve-gate sequencing and a clamping force of 4000–6000 kN. Barrel temperatures are 200–240 °C, hot runner manifold 215–225 °C, nozzle tip 225–235 °C, and mould temperature 8–15 °C. Hold pressure is 40–60% of injection peak pressure, with hold time 1.5–3.0 s. Deflection temperature is measured per ISO 75-2 Method B at 0.45 MPa. The closures are tested for removal torque at 1.5–2.5 N·m and for stress cracking in 20% sodium hydroxide at 50 °C for 24 h according to an internal method derived from ASTM D1693-15. Published data for QZF144 in this specific closure-modifier application is limited; each blend ratio must be validated on the target mould because gate freeze-off and weld-line strength vary with hot-runner design. Compliance includes EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 Articles 3, 11, and 12, and EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011; migration testing uses EN 1186-1 total-immersion methods. The end closures include 28 mm and 38 mm water bottle caps, 1881-style carbonated soft-drink closures, and pharmaceutical vial caps.
QZF144 is converted into monolayer sheet for heavy-gauge thermoformed transit trays and dunnage. A monolayer flat-die sheet line with a 120 mm vented extruder, 32:1 L/D, and a 1200 mm coat-hanger die supplies 3–6 mm sheet. The formulation is 94 wt% QZF144, 4 wt% UV-stabilized HDPE carrier masterbatch, 1 wt% antistatic masterbatch, and 1 wt% slip/antiblock masterbatch. Barrel zones 1–5 are set at 175/185/190/195/200 °C; gear pump inlet pressure is 12–18 MPa; melt temperature after the screen changer is 195–205 °C. Die-lip opening is set at 3.5 mm for 4 mm finished sheet, and roll-stack temperature is 70–85 °C on polished chrome rolls. The sheet is thermoformed on a plug-assisted machine with a ceramic composite plug, sheet surface temperature 160–175 °C, forming pressure 0.6–1.0 MPa, and cycle time 20–30 s. Critical acceptance is bottom-corner thinning below 15% of nominal when measured by ultrasonic thickness mapping; gel counts above 50 particles/kg captured by a 50 µm screen pack are treated as lot failure. Pre-drying at 80 °C for 2 h is required when ambient relative humidity exceeds 60% and regrind content exceeds 20 wt%. Compliance for industrial returnable transit packaging references GB/T 4857.5 drop testing and ISO 12048 stacking-compression testing. Terminal products include reusable thermoformed trays, rack dunnage, and protective corner boards.
On accumulator-head blow moulders producing 20 L open-head shipping pails, QZF144 is run at a melt temperature of 185–200 °C; operation above 210 °C in the accumulator increases the probability of black speck formation because of extended melt residence time. A single-station machine with a 3.5–4.0 kg shot accumulator, 80 mm plasticating screw, and 2.5:1 blow-up ratio is used. The formulation is 5–10 wt% white masterbatch and 0.5 wt% processing aid in QZF144; the white masterbatch is increased to 10 wt% only for high-opacity outdoor containers. The parison die gap is programmed from 3.0 mm at the base to 2.0 mm at the top to compensate for parison sag over a 600 mm shot length. Mould cooling water is 8–15 °C in turbulent-flow service. Cycle time is 75–110 s, with blow-air pressure at 0.8 MPa for 40–50 s. Stacking strength is tested at 40 °C for 24 h per ISO 12048; top-rim warpage below 2 mm measured on a granite surface plate is the release criterion. Pails are type-approved as UN 1H2 solid dangerous goods packaging under ADR 6.1.5. Terminal products include open-head shipping pails for grease, ink, water-based adhesive, and non-corrosive granular chemicals.
