In monolayer extrusion blow moulding of high-density polyethylene milk and edible oil containers, Shanxi PCEC HDPE HDMD-8007 is processed at melt temperatures of 180 °C to 220 °C. Food-contact suitability is confirmed by supplier certification against FDA 21 CFR 177.1520(c), EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 Annex I Table 1, and GB 4806.6-2016. A production formulation contains 98.0–99.5 wt% HDMD-8007, 0.5–2.0 wt% titanium dioxide masterbatch, and 0.05–0.15 wt% processing antioxidant. The TiO₂ loading is set by light transmission requirements for UHT milk. Loading above 2.5 wt% can lower parison melt strength and increase die lip build-up on shuttle machines. Die gap is held between 1.5 mm and 2.5 mm. Blow air pressure is held between 0.6 MPa and 0.9 MPa. Mould cooling water is held at 8–15 °C. On a single-station shuttle blow moulder with a 24:1 to 30:1 L/D barrier screw, 1 L bottle cycle times of 12–18 s are typical. The resulting containers include 500 mL to 5 L pasteurized milk, UHT milk, and edible oil bottles. Drop impact resistance after filling is evaluated using ASTM D2463-23. Environmental stress crack resistance of the finished container is evaluated by ASTM D1693-15 Condition B. Off-taste risk is controlled by limiting melt residence time below 5 min and by purging with a purging compound after every 72 h of continuous extrusion. Published data for this specific grade under high-speed rotary wheel dairy lines is limited.
For 10–30 L jerry cans used in dangerous goods transport, HDMD-8007 is processed on accumulator-head extrusion blow moulding machines with shot capacities of 1–3 kg. The moulding formula normally contains 70–80 wt% virgin HDMD-8007, 20–30 wt% dry, dust-free in-house regrind from pinch-off waste, and 1.0–2.0 wt% carbon black masterbatch where UV stabilization is required. Regrind above 30 wt% is not recommended because repeated shear reduces the high-molecular-weight fraction. This reduction lowers parison hang strength and can create micro-voids at pinch-off weld lines. The parison is programmed across 10–30 angular positions to achieve wall thickness distribution of 1.8–2.8 mm in chime and sidewall regions. Melt temperatures are set at 170–210 °C from feed throat to die head. Blow air pressure is 0.7–1.0 MPa. Mould clamps are set at 80–150 t for 25 L closed-head drums. Compliance requires performance testing under UN Model Regulations Chapter 6.1.5.3 drop test, 6.1.5.4 leakproofness, and 6.1.5.5 hydraulic internal pressure. Finished containers are classified as UN 1H2/Y with design type approval. End products include jerricans for lubricants, pesticides, surfactants, and industrial solvents. Published data for this specific configuration is limited for stacking performance beyond 6 high at 40 °C.

Monolayer extrusion blow moulding of 500 mL to 5 L detergent and disinfectant containers places sustained environmental stress crack resistance on HDMD-8007. Package compatibility is verified by storage contact tests at 40 °C for 7 days. Regulatory compliance for the package is assessed under EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive 94/62/EC Annex II and REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Article 33 communication obligations. Mechanical acceptance includes ASTM D256-23 Izod notched impact and ISO 16770:2004 slow crack growth. A production formula contains 97.0–99.0 wt% HDMD-8007, 0.1–0.3 wt% hindered phenolic antioxidant, 0.05–0.15 wt% phosphite stabilizer, and 1.0–2.5 wt% color masterbatch. Processing is performed on continuous shuttle or rotary wheel blow moulders with 24:1 to 30:1 L/D screws. Melt temperature is set at 180–215 °C. Mould cooling water is held at 8–15 °C. Blow pressure is held at 0.6–0.9 MPa. For sodium hypochlorite bleach above 10% active chlorine stored above 40 °C, stress crack failure can occur. If such service is intended, fluorination of the inner surface is required. Terminal articles include laundry detergent bottles, bleach bottles, and hard-surface cleaner bottles. Published data for this specific grade with fluorinated barrier is limited.
For automotive windshield washer reservoirs and air ducts, HDMD-8007 is formed by 3D suction blow moulding because fixed parison tooling cannot place a closed-loop parison around multiple axes without excessive pinch-off seams. The resin is processed at 190–230 °C melt temperature. A typical formula is 97.5–99.0 wt% HDMD-8007, 1.0–2.0 wt% carbon black masterbatch, and 0.1–0.3 wt% heat stabilizer masterbatch. Mechanical acceptance is judged by ISO 527-2:2012 tensile yield and elongation, ISO 179-1:2010 Charpy notched impact at -30 °C, and ISO 16770:2004 slow crack growth. Vibration and burst tests are performed on finished reservoirs with internal pressure cycling of 0.05–0.15 MPa. The process uses a suction blow moulding machine with parison wall thickness programmed across 20–40 points. Mould cooling water is held at 10–25 °C. Terminal components include 3–8 L washer reservoirs and HVAC ducts. The resin should not be specified for continuous under-hood service above 80 °C or direct contact with brake fluid, which can cause environmental stress cracking. Published data for this specific grade under long-term coolant exposure is limited.
In primary pharmaceutical packaging, HDMD-8007 is processed by extrusion blow moulding into 50–500 mL tablet bottles and cosmetic jars. Compliance with Ph. Eur. 3.1.3 requires extractable tests for heavy metals, sulfated ash, and reducing substances. USP 661.1 plastic materials of construction and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520(c) are applied for oral solid dose containers. The manufacturing formula is 98.5–99.5 wt% HDMD-8007 and 0.5–1.5 wt% pharma-grade titanium dioxide or white masterbatch. No recycled material is permitted. Process conditions include melt temperature 175–205 °C, validated autoclave or ethylene oxide sterilization compatibility, and continuous ionized air cleaning to keep particulate counts below ISO 14644-1 Class 8 in the blow moulding enclosure. Die lip purge intervals are shortened to 24 h to prevent degraded gel formation. Cooling water is held at 8–12 °C. Terminal articles include desiccant-capped tablet bottles, ophthalmic ointment jars, and cosmetic cream pots. Extractable testing follows Ph. Eur. 3.1.3 and USP 661.1 biological reactivity procedures. Published data for this specific grade under terminal gamma sterilization is limited.
