Application of JIANGXISUGO ABS H7113 Nature

JIANGXISUGO ABS H7113 Nature is applied as an injection-moulding-grade acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene feedstock in the downstream routes detailed below. The grade is natural in colour, and all addition ratios are stated on a parts-per-hundred resin or weight-percentage basis; commercial compounds must be rebalanced against the lot certificate of analysis because filler, impact modifier, masterbatch and processing aid loadings shift the final melt volume-flow rate. Published lot-specific data for this exact designation is limited, so the processing bands in this section are drawn from the general-purpose ABS injection-grade window of 220–250 °C melt temperature and 40–80 °C mould temperature, as verified against ISO 1133-1:2022 and ISO 294-5:2017 conditioning practice. For any application involving electrical safety, food contact, toy safety, or vehicle interior emissions, the finished component, not the neat resin, governs compliance.

Thin-wall display bezels and LED panel frames represent the most process-sensitive application for H7113 Nature. These parts are moulded with nominal wall sections of 1.0–2.5 mm, and flow length-to-wall-thickness ratios frequently exceed 150:1 in wide-format monitor bezels; the narrow processing window is therefore controlled by melt cushion and hold-pressure transfer rather than by a single barrel set-point. In a 20–24:1 L/D general-purpose reciprocating screw, a reverse temperature profile of 220–230 °C / 240 °C / 240 °C / 235 °C from hopper to nozzle is used to limit butadiene-phase shear heating. Mould temperature is held at 50–70 °C with turbulent-flow water channels of 10 mm minimum diameter. Pre-drying at 80–85 °C for 2–4 h in a desiccant dryer with a dew point of -30 °C or lower is required when ambient relative humidity exceeds 60%, because residual moisture above 0.05 wt% produces splay on polished cavity surfaces. The formulation normally uses 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 2–4 phr ABS-compatible colour masterbatch, 0.1–0.3 phr hindered phenolic antioxidant, and 0.5–1.5 phr non-amine antistatic additive for static-dust control on bezel surfaces. Amine-based antistatic packages are avoided because they interfere with the polybutadiene phase stabilizer and can raise yellowness index under repeat heat exposure. Injection velocity is set between 120 mm/s and 200 mm/s; hold pressure is 60–80% of peak injection pressure; and cushion is maintained at 2–4 mm to prevent screw bottoming and short-shot drift.

Runner and gate geometry are not independent of the injection profile. For bezels with projected area above 800 cm², a central hot sprue bushing with 2–4 heated drops and full-round cold runners of 6–8 mm diameter is used instead of extended tab gates. The gate diameter is held between 1.0 mm and 1.8 mm for a 1.2 mm wall to prevent jetting and gate blush. Cavity venting is specified at 0.02–0.03 mm depth along the parting line, with the last 20% of the flow path vented at 0.03–0.05 mm; inadequate venting produces burn marks at the end of fill. Batch-to-batch variation in melt volume-flow rate of ±2 cm³/10 min shifts fill time in these long-flow parts more than barrel temperature adjustment. For that reason, cavity-pressure switchover at 40–60 MPa is used instead of timer-based switchover; time-based switchover can vary shot weight by 1.5–2.0% across a production shift. Clamp force is selected at 4–6 kN/cm² of projected area, with a minimum of 4,000 kN for a 27-inch monitor bezel tool. The relevant electrical-safety standard is IEC 62368-1:2023, with external enclosures assessed under the applicable UL 94 horizontal burn classification, typically HB at disclosure thickness; this grade is not a halogen-free or V-0 system and is limited to end-products where the HB classification is acceptable. European Union market entry requires RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II substance verification and REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Article 33 communication for SVHC content. Terminal parts include edge-lit monitor bezels, back-cover frames for all-in-one computers, and control-panel escutcheons. The main production-line failure mode in wide-format bezels is weld-line cracking at the gate-merging point opposite the tunnel gate; this is mitigated by relocating weld lines to non-structural zones and using full-round runners rather than trapezoidal runners.

Which Processing Boundaries Govern H7113 Nature in Unpainted HVAC Vent Assemblies?

In unpainted automotive interior systems, H7113 Nature is selected where low-gloss, dimensional stability, and low odour are required but where the part is not exposed to direct weathering or high-temperature powertrain radiation. The application is not a PC/ABS structural load path; it is a semi-visible comfort-system carrier. Addition ratio in this sector is commonly 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 0.5–2.0 phr interior-grade near-neutral colour masterbatch, 0.2–0.5 phr lubricant package based on ethylene bis-stearamide, and 0.1–0.3 phr phosphite antioxidant. For vent blades with a low squeak-risk target, 0.5–1.0 wt% ultra-high-molecular-weight siloxane masterbatch is optionally dry-blended; this reduces slip-stick noise in blade pivot regions but must be validated for fogging under DIN 75201:2011-11. The production process uses hydraulic or servo-electric injection machines with clamp force from 1,800–5,000 kN, depending on tool size. Melt temperature is held at 230–245 °C and mould temperature at 45–70 °C. Sequential valve-gated hot runners with 3–6 drops are used for multi-cavity vent frames because they shift the weld line away from the thin blade root.

The main field failure in unpainted vent assemblies is not short-shot but latch and blade deformation after thermal soak. Parts are therefore conditioned for 24 h at 80 °C and measured for dimensional change against the part drawing; a deviation of more than 0.2% in the blade chord length indicates packing stress release. The cooling fixture should hold the part for 10–15 s after ejection and restrict the gate area while the material falls below its heat-deflection threshold. Solvent resistance is limited: avoid direct contact with toluene, acetone, or methyl ethyl ketone during assembly or cleaning, because these solvents induce environmental stress cracking at the thin hinge roots. The relevant supply-chain quality system is IATF 16949:2016; emissions testing is performed under VDA 277 total hydrocarbon emission and VDA 278 VOC/FOG screening where the vehicle programme requires it. Flammability of occupant-compartment materials is assessed under FMVSS 302 or ISO 3795:1989. Recycling marking is applied according to ISO 11469:2016. Terminal parts include HVAC vent louvers and bezels, instrument-cluster lower shrouds, glove-box inner carriers, and seat-belt retractor covers. The boundary condition is that natural ABS is not UV-stable enough for upper instrument panels exposed to direct sunlight; such parts require a UV-stabilized grade or acrylic capping.

Gas-Assisted Injection of Small-Appliance Motor Housings and the Pressure-Decay Boundary

For motor housings in corded small appliances, H7113 Nature is specified when a motor housing, handle, or chassis needs a balance of impact toughness and high surface replication from a textured cavity. The formulation in this route is 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 2–4 phr colour masterbatch, 0.2–0.5 phr processing aid, and 0.2–0.4 phr UV stabilizer where the appliance is partially visible near kitchen windows. Food-contact surfaces are not produced from this grade unless a barrier or coating is applied; compliance is assessed on the finished appliance under IEC 60335-1:2020 with material tests for glow-wire ignition under IEC 60695-2-11:2021 and ball pressure where current-carrying or insulating parts are involved. For thick-walled handles with nominal sections above 6 mm, gas-assisted injection is used to core the section and reduce sink marks. In a gas-assisted mould, the polymer is short-shot to 92–97% of cavity volume, then nitrogen at 8–15 MPa is injected through a gas pin to form an internal hollow channel. Melt temperature is set at 235–250 °C, mould temperature at 50–75 °C, and gas delay time is 0.5–2.0 s after screw retraction.

Nitrogen injection pressure is not constant throughout the gas channel. In a typical gas-assisted cycle, the pressure is ramped from 6 MPa to 14 MPa over 1–3 s and held for 8–20 s until the channel surface freezes. Cavity pressure sensors along the gas channel are used to detect gas penetration beyond the designed length; if the pressure drop between two sensors exceeds 0.5 MPa, the channel is partially blocked by polymer freeze-off. The mould is designed with gas channels of 8–14 mm diameter in non-appearance areas, and gas entries are placed away from screw bosses. For motor housings, a major production bottleneck is the screw boss on the back face; if the boss diameter is below 6 mm, gas penetration into the boss can create a through-hole. The critical failure mode is gas breakthrough when the melt front is too cold or the short-shot volume is below 90%; this produces blowholes at the gas-pin boss. Conversely, overpacking above 97% limits the hollow channel and leaves sink marks. Terminal parts include vacuum-cleaner motor housings, floor-tool neck components, food-processor base shrouds, and cordless stick-vacuum extension tubes. The operational boundary is that continuous-use surface temperatures above 80 °C may exceed the Vicat softening point of general-purpose ABS; parts near motor output bushes should be thermally isolated or tested to ISO 306:2013 Method B50 for verification.

When H7113 Nature Enters Sanitary Drainage Fittings Without Pressure-Rating Assumptions

Building drainage components are a distinct route because the governing standards are material- and dimension-specific, not generic appliance standards. Injection-moulded traps, threaded connectors, and adjustable bends are produced from 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 0.5–2.0 phr white or grey pigment masterbatch, 0.05–0.15 phr calcium stearate mould-release agent, and no filler because filler reduces impact at the thread root. For European drainage applications, the relevant product standard is EN 1455-1:2000 for ABS pipes and fittings for soil and waste discharge; for North American drainage, ASTM D2661 covers ABS Schedule 40 DWV fittings, with dimensional tolerance verification against the applicable schedule. The production process uses injection machines with clamp force from 2,000–8,000 kN, depending on the diameter of the fitting. Mould temperature is held at 40–65 °C, and melt temperature is kept at 220–240 °C to avoid thermal degradation in long residence times caused by thick fitting bosses. Threaded features are formed by two-stage unscrewing cores: hydraulic rotating cores engage during ejection, with rotation speed limited to 10–30 min⁻¹ to prevent thread tearing. Cooling time is governed by the thickest section; for a 40 mm diameter solvent-socket boss, total cycle time is typically 45–75 s, but this depends on tool steel conductivity and cooling channel spacing.

Fittings are tested for dimensional stability by measuring the diameter at the socket and the length of the threaded section after 24 h of conditioning at 23±2 °C and 50±10% relative humidity. A change of more than 0.3% in the effective diameter indicates moisture uptake or packing stress. For solvent-welded drainage systems, the installer applies solvent cement to the socket and pipe end; the joint is assembled by pushing the pipe into the fitting without rotation and held for 30–60 s before release. The high hoop stress at the socket wall is the reason the mould must avoid sink marks at the socket base; sink depth above 0.05 mm creates a leak path under backpressure. Terminal products include bottle traps, telescopic joints, threaded adaptors, and floor-drain bodies. The boundary is that H7113 Nature is not pressure-rated for continuous hot-water service; it is limited to drainage and waste applications with intermittent discharge below 60 °C, and pressure-rating claims must be validated under the relevant national plumbing acceptance scheme. Solvent cement compatibility must be verified with the fitting manufacturer because aromatic solvent blends can induce environmental stress cracking at injection weld lines.

Toy Safety Is a Finished-Article Limit, Not a Resin Claim

Toy structural parts made from H7113 Nature are produced only when the finished article is intended for non-mouthing or age-graded use because the raw polymer does not by itself satisfy the migration limits; the entire finished toy is subject to harmonised testing. The compound is 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 2–5 phr toy-grade colour masterbatch, 0.2–0.5 phr internal lubricant, and no recycled content unless the toy brand has approved a closed-loop stream. Under EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021, the finished toy is tested by extraction of accessible material in 0.07 N hydrochloric acid at 37 °C for 2 h, with element-specific migration limits for aluminium, antimony, arsenic, barium, boron, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, selenium, strontium, tin, zinc. In the United States, ASTM F963-23 governs soluble heavy elements and other mechanical requirements. The production process is a fully electric injection machine with clamp force of 600–2,200 kN, using a mould temperature of 40–65 °C and melt temperature of 225–245 °C. High-gloss toy surfaces are produced with polished cavities and a mirror finish; the natural grade accepts masterbatch colour with adequate dispersion when the masterbatch carrier is SAN- or ABS-based.

Because toy components are often assembled with press-fit pins or ultrasonic welding, weld-line strength is a critical field failure. The injection gate is placed at the thickest section and the weld line is moved away from snap-fit undercuts; when a weld line crosses a snap-fit, the part is tested under a 5 kg tensile load for 10 s without visible cracking, but this internal test is not a harmonised standard. Ultrasonic welding of ABS toy shells uses 20 kHz or 35 kHz equipment with amplitude 20–40 μm and trigger force 100–300 N; the natural grade welds consistently if the joint has a triangular energy director of 0.3–0.5 mm. Vibration welding may cause superficial burn marks on natural ABS if the weld time exceeds 1.5 s. Terminal parts include dollhouse structural frames, toy vehicle bodies, construction block baseplates, and costume armour shells. The operational limitation is that soft PVC or phthalate-containing overmoulding should not be combined with the ABS substrate if deformation or shrinkage mismatch occurs; if the toy contains accessible cords or small parts, additional physical testing under EN 71-1:2014+A1:2018 is triggered, not solely material compliance.

Office-equipment chassisIEC 62368-1:2023UL 94 HBRepeated screw bosses need inserts beyond 5 cycles

Office-equipment chassis components and point-of-sale terminal housings use H7113 Nature when the specification requires a low-shrinkage substrate for internal bosses, snap-fit clips, and multiple self-tapping screw sites. The formulation uses 100 parts by mass H7113 Nature, 2–3 phr grey or black masterbatch, 0.1–0.2 phr slip additive, and 0.1–0.3 phr antioxidant. The downstream production process differs from thin-wall electronics by using thick-section boss areas of 4–8 mm, which are prone to internal void formation if injection speed is too high. A mid-speed injection profile of 40–80 mm/s is used, with hold pressure applied until gate freeze is verified by screw-load decay of 2–3 s. Melt temperature is 225–245 °C and mould temperature is 45–65 °C. For parts with long flat areas, cavity pressure sensors are placed in the last 20% of flow length to trigger hold-pressure switchover at 35–50 MPa at the sensor location. The governing product safety standard is IEC 62368-1:2023; the enclosure material is not automatically required to be V-0 for plastic parts that are classified as not reducing risk of fire, but the surface must not ignite under the applicable abnormal operating fault if the board below carries a flame-classified barrier. Terminal parts include printer side panels, scanner carriage shrouds, point-of-sale display housings, paper trays, and automatic document feeder frames. The operational limitation is that threaded screw bosses should be limited to 5 assembly cycles unless brass inserts are used; beyond this, the thread root may crack because ABS is notch-sensitive at sharp thread geometries. For textured surfaces, a draft angle of 1.5–2.0° is used to avoid drag marks; for polished surfaces, tool temperature is kept above 55 °C to reproduce gloss.

    More Introduction

JIANGXISUGO ABS H7113 Nature is supplied as an unpigmented acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer in pellet form. The H7113 identifier denotes a general-purpose unfilled injection-moulding grade; the Nature suffix indicates that no carbon black, titanium dioxide, or organic colorant is dispersed in the styrene-acrylonitrile matrix during finishing. In this form, the pellet is suited to in-house coloration at 2–4 wt% masterbatch addition, but the unfilled, unpigmented chemistry also defines the upper service limit: UV exposure without a light-stabilizer package causes chromatic shift under ISO 4892-2 cycle A before tensile properties decline. The material is classed under ISO 2580-2 as an ABS moulding and extrusion material; specific lot values should be read from the supplier’s certificate of analysis before tool release.

The terpolymer architecture consists of a continuous styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer phase with a dispersed polybutadiene rubber phase. Acrylonitrile content in the SAN matrix is typically 18–25 wt%. The rubber particles act as stress concentrators that induce multiple crazing and shear yielding under impact; the grafted SAN layer provides interfacial adhesion between the rubber domains and the matrix. This architecture explains why the unfilled material can show a room-temperature notched Charpy impact above 16 kJ/m² while retaining a tensile modulus near 2300 MPa. The absence of filler and flame retardant reduces melt viscosity at high shear rates and improves knit-line re-amalgamation relative to mineral-filled ABS; however, the material remains sensitive to excessive shear heating in the compression zone of the screw, where melt temperature can overshoot by 10–15 °C above the barrel setpoint at screw speeds above 70 rpm.

What separates H7113 Nature from high-gloss, high-impact, and flame-retardant ABS grades?

ABS formulations are differentiated by rubber-phase content, graft morphology, and additive loading. High-gloss ABS grades used in cosmetic fascia typically reduce butadiene rubber content or shift the rubber particle size distribution below 0.3 µm to limit surface micro-roughness; the compromise is a notched Charpy impact at 23 °C that can fall to 10–15 kJ/m² under ISO 179-1/1eA. JIANGXISUGO ABS H7113 Nature belongs to a medium-impact band, with class-typical notched Charpy values of 16–24 kJ/m². Compared with high-impact ABS grades that exceed 30 kJ/m², H7113 Nature trades low-temperature ductility for a narrower viscosity profile during mould filling. Against flame-retardant ABS types, which use brominated or phosphorus-based packages to achieve UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm, the H7113 grade is non-flame-retarded; the expected classification is UL 94 HB at 1.5 mm. The absence of FR additives reduces plate-out on tool surfaces and avoids the acidic decomposition products that can corrode polished P20 steel cavities over prolonged residence at 250 °C.

Natural coloration also differentiates the product. A pre-coloured black ABS hides weld-line flow marks, glass-fibre read-through, and regrind streaks because carbon black raises opacity above 0.99 at 2 mm thickness. The Nature grade transmits more light in thin sections and reveals knit lines after moulding; therefore gate position, melt temperature, and pack pressure must be controlled to maintain surface uniformity. Solvent bonding and adhesive joining are generally governed by the SAN matrix in the same manner as other ABS grades, but the absence of pigment reduces interfacial contamination risk in applications where extractables are tested under ISO 10993-18 or food-contact migration under EU 10/2011.

Nominal mechanical and rheological property envelope for preliminary tool design

For preliminary mould-flow simulation and structural finite-element analysis, the following class-typical ranges are used. They are not substitute lot-specific values; the manufacturer’s certificate must be applied before final drawing. The test methods and specimen geometries are listed because property data for ABS are sensitive to specimen thickness, conditioning atmosphere, and loading rate. The values reflect unfilled ABS injection-moulding grades with a medium melt-volume flow rate; H7113 Nature is positioned within this envelope unless supplier data state otherwise. Published data for this specific product configuration is limited.

Processability of natural ABS is not identical to that of pre-dried black ABS from the same viscosity class. The absence of carbon black changes infrared absorption in radiant-hopper drying and can leave pellets at a lower surface temperature when dryer setpoint is the same. Desiccant-bed dryers with a -30 °C dew point, air flow of 0.25 m³/min per 100 kg/h throughput, and bed depth below 300 mm are required for stable operation. At 23 °C and 50 % RH, ABS pellets take up approximately 0.2–0.4 % moisture; residual moisture above 0.05 % measured by ISO 15512 Method B produces gaseous hydrolysis products at the melt nozzle and silver streaks that radiate from hot-runner gates. Production-scale experience with vacuum dryers at 80 °C shows that wet pellets can reach the target in 2–3 h only if dried in shallow trays or a continuous vacuum hopper; static drying in sealed bins without desiccant circulation does not remove moisture rapidly enough to prevent die-face splay on machines above 1200 kN clamp force.

When H7113 Nature replaces a pre-coloured ABS in thin-wall enclosure tooling

In thin-wall applications below 1.2 mm nominal wall thickness, melt-front cooling occurs within 0.3–0.8 s depending on mold surface temperature. A medium-flow ABS such as H7113 Nature requires a melt temperature at the nozzle of 240–250 °C, a mold surface of 50–70 °C, and hydraulic injection pressure in the 80–120 MPa range to fill a 0.8 mm rib without short shot. Screw forward velocity should be set to 150–250 mm/s on a 35 mm general-purpose screw with an L/D of 20:1; filling times below 0.5 s are often unnecessary and increase back-pressure in the hot runner. When replacing a pre-coloured grade, the processor must re-validate weld-line strength because natural material has a different infrared absorption profile and may arrive at the melt nozzle 3–5 °C lower than a black grade under the same barrel setpoints. Weld-line tensile strength under ISO 527-2 may be 10–20 % lower than the parent material, requiring sacrificial flow leaders or gate repositioning in parts that carry clips or snap-fits.

In hot-runner systems, natural ABS requires polished or coated flow channels with shear rates below 50,000 s⁻¹ to avoid polymer degradation. Gate shear rates above 100,000 s⁻¹ cause local melt temperature rise and visible blush. Valve-gated hot nozzles with orifice diameters below 1.5 mm should be avoided for unfilled natural ABS because dead spots lead to brown streaks after 30 min residence time.

Thermal deflection and creep behaviour under sustained service loads

The heat deflection temperature under 1.8 MPa and ISO 75-2/A is not a continuous-use temperature. Class-typical unfilled ABS at 92–98 °C HDT retains short-term stiffness at elevated temperature, but semi-crystalline creep recovery and stress relaxation require apparent creep modulus from ISO 899-1. Under sustained tensile load at 40 °C and 1000 h, the tensile creep modulus of unfilled ABS can decline to 50–60 % of the short-term ISO 527-2 modulus. Components carrying spring clips, snap arms, or threaded inserts should be designed at a maximum strain below 0.5 % to limit viscoelastic relaxation to less than 0.1 % over 10,000 h at 23 °C. Environmental stress cracking is a known failure mode for ABS: contact with aliphatic ketones, esters, chlorinated solvents, and certain citrus-based cleaners produces microcracking under low applied strain, with ISO 22088-3 bent-strip testing used to screen formulation compatibility. The natural grade is not recommended for continuous hot-water contact above 60 °C under stress; the rubber phase oxidizes at the interface and reduces notched impact to below 10 kJ/m² after extended exposure.

UV exposure and long-term weathering boundaries are material class limitations rather than batch defects. Unstabilized natural ABS exposed under ISO 4892-2 cycle A can show yellowing index shift of more than 10 units within 500 h; tensile yield retention may remain above 85 % but gloss and transparency degrade earlier. If outdoor or high-UV indoor exposure is specified, the converter should compound 0.3–1.0 wt% of an ABS-compatible hindered amine or benzotriazole stabilizer during masterbatch addition. For unpainted indoor enclosures, the UV limitation is acceptable when the documented service environment does not exceed 500 h xenon-arc exposure. Published data for this specific configuration is limited; lot-specific spectra, melt-flow certificate, and application-specific UL yellow-card status must be obtained from the supplier before final part qualification.
