In instrument-panel carrier production, FuJian HuaSu PC/ABS HS5017HR is specified as the high-flow matrix component at 78 wt% of the compounded feedstock. The balance is 15 wt% mineral-filled PC/ABS regrind containing 10–15 wt% talc in a PC/ABS carrier, 4.5 wt% methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene impact modifier, 0.3 wt% blended hindered phenolic/phosphite antioxidant, 0.4 wt% pentaerythritol tetrastearate internal release, and 1.8 wt% carbon-black/compatibilizer masterbatch. The ratios are finalised on a co-rotating twin-screw extruder with 40:1 L/D, side-feeding of the mineral-filled regrind into the melt, and vacuum devolatilisation at −0.08 MPa to −0.09 MPa; barrel set points in the final three zones are 240–260 °C. Raising HS5017HR above 82 wt% while reducing impact modifier to 2.5 wt% may improve flow length but creates a ductile-to-brittle transition below −20 °C; increasing regrind beyond 20 wt% lowers ISO 179-1/1eU Charpy impact at −30 °C below OEM-specific energy thresholds. Lot-to-lot MVR determined by ISO 1133-1:2022 at 260 °C/5 kg is checked before molding; deviation above 1.5 cm³/10 min from the approved master batch changes short-shot limits in 1.2 mm ribs and boss intersections.
On the injection molding floor, pre-drying is performed at 100–110 °C for 4 h using a desiccant-bed dryer delivering −40 °C dew point air; residual moisture exceeding 0.02 wt% by Karl Fischer titration produces splay on the visible core side and hydrolytic degradation of the PC phase. Melt temperature at the nozzle is maintained at 250–270 °C and the mold wall temperature at 70–90 °C; the practical processing window around the 260 °C set point is ±10 °C because lower temperatures increase peak injection pressure above 1,800 bar and higher temperatures produce local yellowing at hot-runner dead spots. For a 1.8 kg instrument-panel carrier, clamp force is 1,200–1,600 t. Sequential valve gating opens outer gates 0.2–0.5 s before center gates to relocate weld lines away from airbag deployment hinge zones; holding pressure is 45–65 MPa applied for 8–14 s, followed by 25–35 s cooling until part ejection at 90–100 °C.
Automotive interior compliance for HS5017HR compounds is verified through horizontal burn rate, volatile outgassing, impact, and dimensional stability. The release matrix below is applied before serial production.
| Standard/clause | Test configuration | Acceptance basis |
|---|---|---|
| ISO 3795 / FMVSS 302 | 100 mm × 355 mm × thickness specimen | Horizontal burn rate ≤ 100 mm/min |
| VDA 278 | Headspace GC/FID after 60 min at 90 °C | VOC ≤ 100 µg/g; FOG ≤ 250 µg/g |
| ISO 179-1/1eU | 80 mm × 10 mm × 4 mm, 23 °C and −30 °C | No break or ductile failure, OEM-specific energy |
| ISO 294-4 | 60 mm × 60 mm × 2 mm plaque | Shrinkage tolerance ± 0.05 % between longitudinal and transverse |
| GADSL | Substance list | No declarable substances above threshold |
Terminal product types include instrument panel carriers, door module carrier plates, climate-control housing support frames, center console structural sub-assemblies, and under-dash airbag chute carriers where grain-matched appearance is not required.
The primary constraint in thin-wall notebook and tablet enclosures is not initial UL 94 V-0 performance but retention after 70 °C/168 h thermal conditioning and after 85 °C/85% RH damp-heat exposure. Thin-wall compounds based on PC/ABS HS5017HR start from 100 parts base resin, 8–14 phr of a high-molecular-weight phosphate or phosphazene flame-retardant masterbatch, 0.2–0.4 phr hindered phenolic antioxidant, 0.2–0.5 phr phosphite secondary antioxidant, and 0.2–0.5 phr pentaerythritol tetrastearate. Addition of the FR masterbatch above 14 phr increases melt flow but reduces notched Izod impact per ISO 180/1A and tensile modulus at 1.2 mm; below 8 phr, after-aging UL 94 V-0 is lost at 0.8 mm. The compound is let down on a 35:1 L/D co-rotating twin-screw extruder with side feeding of the FR concentrate into the melt to limit shear heating; final three barrel zones are set at 240–255 °C and screw speed is 250–350 rpm. A melt temperature above 260 °C during compounding degrades the phosphate ester package and produces free acid that catalyzes PC hydrolysis, so torque and melt temperature at the die are monitored every lot.
Injection molding of 1.2 mm walls uses an 18–25 mm screw diameter, all-electric or high-speed accumulator machine with screw forward velocity 180–250 mm/s. Melt temperature at the nozzle is 255–285 °C, mold temperature 60–80 °C, and fill time 0.4–1.0 s. Gate design uses a 6–8 mm fan or 0.5–0.8 mm tab gate to avoid jetting; switchover to pack pressure occurs at screw position corresponding to 95–98% cushion. Pack pressure is 50–75 MPa, pack time 4–8 s, and cooling time 8–12 s. Pre-drying is 100–110 °C for 4 h with desiccant-bed dryer dew point below −35 °C; hopper receiver must be sealed because PC/ABS absorbs moisture rapidly above 60% RH. More than 10 wt% regrind requires re-testing of UL 94 aging because the recycled phase can carry low-molecular-weight phosphate species to the surface.
Compliance for ICT enclosures is assessed under IEC 62368-1:2023, UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm and 1.2 mm, IEC 60695-11-10 test method, EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II with lead < 1,000 ppm, and REACH Candidate List declarations. For UL 94, specimens are conditioned at 23±2 °C and 50±5% RH for 48 h, then aged at 70±1 °C for 168 h before flame testing. Parts with wall thickness below 1.0 mm require additional verification because the skin-core morphology and FR-rich skin formation are not equivalent to 1.5 mm plaques.
Terminal product types include 0.8–1.5 mm notebook bottom covers, tablet rear housings with internal snap-fit bosses, router shells with ventilation grille cutouts, monitor bezel frames, and display rear covers.
For AC wallbox enclosures and charging communication modules, the PC/ABS HS5017HR formulation is adjusted to hold comparative tracking index and glow-wire performance while retaining low-temperature impact. A starting addition ratio is 100 parts HS5017HR, 10–16 phr halogen-free phosphate flame-retardant masterbatch, 3–6 phr high-molecular-weight silicone-acrylate processing aid, 0.5–2.0 phr carbon black masterbatch with 30–40 wt% carbon black in a PC/ABS carrier, and 0.2–0.5 phr hindered phenolic antioxidant. Carbon black addition above 2.5 phr reduces CTI and changes IEC 60112 material-group classification; the lower 0.5 phr addition is used when the enclosure will be painted, while 2.0 phr is used for unpainted black UV-stable parts. Halogen-free FR masterbatch addition above 16 phr lowers heat deflection temperature and impact; below 10 phr the 3.0 mm wall may fail glow-wire ignition at 850 °C. Published data for this specific configuration is limited, so each compound batch is qualified with injection-molded plaques before production.
Production of EVSE enclosures uses a 300–450 t injection molding machine for wall sections 2.5–4.0 mm, a valve-gated hot runner with 2–4 drops, and a mold temperature of 70–90 °C. Melt temperature at the nozzle is 255–275 °C. Injection speed is 30–80 mm/s to avoid high shear and gate blush on the textured facade; pressures are set by short-shot study so that the flow front reaches 95% fill before pack. Pack pressure is 40–60 MPa for 10–18 s, and cooling time is 20–40 s. Weld lines are moved via sequential valve gating away from mounting bosses and sealing grooves; if a weld line crosses a load-bearing boss, notched Charpy impact per ISO 179-1/1eA at −20 °C is required. Material must be pre-dried at 100–110 °C for 4–6 h to below 0.02 wt% moisture with hopper dryer dew point below −30 °C.
Standards for this scenario are IEC 61851-1:2017 for EV conductive charging system accessibility and protection, IEC 60695-2-11 glow-wire flammability at 850 °C for unattended equipment, IEC 60695-2-13 glow-wire ignition temperature where wall thickness exceeds 3.0 mm, IEC 60112 CTI, and UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm minimum. EU RoHS 2011/65/EU and REACH SCIP notifications for SVHCs above 0.1 wt% at article level apply. UL 746C f1 outdoor suitability is not claimed for unpainted PC/ABS; outdoor parts require painting or cladding.
Terminal parts include indoor/outdoor AC wallbox front and rear shells, charging communication module housings, plug holster bodies, and charging station pedestal side panels. Current-carrying connectors and contact carriers are excluded and are typically PBT, PA, or PPS.
In-mold labeling on white-goods control panels imposes different requirements from post-mold painting: the melt must not wash away the ink layer, the film must not delaminate from the PC/ABS substrate, and the part must pass appliance glow-wire testing without post-cure. PC/ABS HS5017HR is run in a 100 parts base-resin formulation with 0.5–1.5 parts carbon black masterbatch, 0.2–0.8 parts silicone-based mold release, and 0.1–0.3 parts antioxidant. No external lubricants are added beyond the release package because excessive lubricant migration reduces film adhesion. The addition ratio of carbon black is set by transmission opacity; for a 2.5 mm nominal wall, 0.5 parts is generally sufficient, while 1.5 parts is used for high-gloss optical black panels. A phosphate FR package is omitted unless the appliance OEM requires V-0; where required, 6–10 phr FR masterbatch is added, but higher loading reduces IML film adhesion and must be validated on first articles.
IML molding uses a vertical film-loading cell and a 200–350 t hydraulic or electric injection molding machine. The film is electrostatically pinned to the cavity wall; melt is injected at 20–80 mm/s to prevent film washout, with melt temperature 245–265 °C and mold temperature 50–70 °C. Switchover from velocity to pressure is made at 95–98% fill volume; packing pressure is 35–50 MPa for 6–10 s. The lower mold temperature helps avoid film shrinkage distortion but increases molded-in stress near the gate; long-term detergent cleaning tests per IEC 60335-1 can expose stress-cracking and must be performed on first-article panels. A film preform guide and cavity vacuum pullback are used when the film depth exceeds 2 mm to avoid wrinkling.
Appliance compliance is anchored to IEC 60335-1:2012 + A2:2019 clause 30.2.3 for resistance to heat and fire, IEC 60695-2-11 glow-wire at 750 °C for connected appliances above 0.5 A, and UL 94 HB or V-0 as specified by the end-product standard. EU RoHS 2011/65/EU and REACH Annex XVII restrictions apply. If the panel is used in medical or industrial appliances, additional IEC 60601-1 or IEC 61010-1 requirements replace the appliance baseline.
Terminal product types are washing machine control panels, dishwasher front fascia panels, tumble dryer display housings, air purifier top covers, and oven user-interface bezels.
Cart-based diagnostic system housings impose leakage-current spacing and chemical-cleaner resistance requirements that are not met by unfilled ABS. PC/ABS HS5017HR is used at 100 parts base resin, with 0.5–1.0 parts of a non-ionic antistatic masterbatch to reduce surface resistivity to 10¹⁰–10¹² Ω/sq, 0.2–0.4 parts hindered phenolic antioxidant, and 0.2–0.4 parts internal release. The antistatic package is kept below 1.0 part because higher loading lowers tensile modulus and may affect cleaning-agent stress-crack resistance. Where the device is used in an oxygen-enriched environment, flame-retardant therapy is not automatically permitted; UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm is required only when end-product risk management demands ignition protection.
Medical enclosure parts are molded with a 2.0–3.5 mm wall thickness, melt temperature 240–260 °C, mold temperature 40–60 °C to reduce residual gate stress, and packing pressure 30–50 MPa. Lower mold temperature is used for matte-textured grained surfaces to reduce cycle time but increases orientation stress near sharp corners; gas-assisted injection may be used for large cart shrouds to eliminate sink marks at internal bosses. If gas-assisted injection is used, nitrogen purity must be above 99.5%, gas entry pressure is 10–20 MPa, and gas channels are 6–10 mm diameter. The resin must be pre-dried at 100–110 °C for 4 h to below 0.02 wt% moisture because moisture-related splay is unacceptable on medical surface finishes.
Compliance is evaluated under IEC 60601-1:2005+A1:2012+A2:2020 for medical electrical equipment, ISO 14971 risk management, and ISO 10993-1 for biological evaluation when the housing can be touched by patients or operators for limited periods. Declaration under EU MDR 2017/745 for Article 10 economic operators is the responsibility of the finished device manufacturer; the resin supplier supplies REACH and RoHS statements. Cleaning-agent compatibility is tested with 70% isopropanol, 0.5% sodium hypochlorite, and quaternary ammonium disinfectants using a 30-minute contact patch, followed by tensile elongation at break per ISO 527-2/1B/50.
Terminal product types are ultrasound cart shrouds, patient monitor rear housings, laboratory diagnostic instrument bezels, and portable x-ray controller enclosures.
Indoor 5G small-cell concealment housings operate with continuous PoE heat load and require halogen-free FR performance after thermal aging. For PC/ABS HS5017HR, a compounding formulation uses 100 parts base resin, 10–18 phr halogen-free phosphate/phosphazene FR masterbatch, 0.5–1.2 phr silicone processing aid, and 0.2–0.5 phr antioxidant. The processing aid improves dispersion of the FR masterbatch and reduces torque on a 40:1 L/D co-rotating twin-screw extruder; if torque exceeds 70% of extruder drive capacity, screw speed is reduced from 300–400 rpm to 200–250 rpm rather than increasing barrel temperature because localized overheating degrades the PC phase. The upper FR masterbatch limit of 18 phr is set by heat distortion temperature and impact; the lower 10 phr limit is governed by UL 94 V-0 retention after 70 °C/168 h and after 80 °C/7 days thermal aging. Amine-based flame retardants and amine-cured epoxy pigments are not combined with this system because they accelerate PC hydrolysis and lower molecular weight retention.
Housing molding uses 250–350 t clamping force, single or two-plate mold with 1.5–2.5 mm walls, melt temperature 260–285 °C, mold temperature 70–90 °C, and fill time 0.8–1.5 s. The hot runner system is a valve-gated 2–6 drop layout; sequential opening is used to place weld lines in low-stress ventilation zones. After molding, annealing at 80–100 °C for 2 h reduces internal stress from metal bushings; parts are cooled to room temperature before packing to prevent dimensional warp. Pre-drying at 100–110 °C for 4 h to below 0.02 wt% moisture is required before both compounding and molding.
Relevant standards are UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm, IEC 62368-1:2023 for ICT equipment, UL 746B for relative thermal index, IEC 60695-2-11 glow wire for unattended equipment, and EU RoHS 2011/65/EU with exemption reviews. RF-transparent window areas require separate polycarbonate or PBT components; published data for HS5017HR as an RF-transparent window at 2.4–6.0 GHz is limited, and dielectric loss tangent must be verified on plaques before such use.
Terminal product types are small-cell concealment enclosures, WiFi 6 access point housings, in-building DAS shroud panels, and 5G indoor router covers.

FuJian HuaSu PC/ABS HS5017HR is a compounded polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene alloy positioned by Fujian HuaSu within its halogen-free flame-retardant portfolio. The HS5017HR suffix is interpreted as a supplier-specific heat-resistance marker, but confirmation against the manufacturer’s nomenclature key and certificate of analysis is required before production qualification. The material is supplied as cylindrical pellets for injection molding and, in class-level applications, is directed toward thin-wall electrical enclosures, charger housings, and internal frames requiring a UL 94 V-0 rating at wall thicknesses of 0.8 mm to 1.6 mm.
At the time of writing, publicly accessible lot-specific test data for HS5017HR are limited. The numerical values presented below are compiled from published datasheets of halogen-free flame-retardant PC/ABS alloys with density 1.17–1.21 g/cm³ and are not certified values for HS5017HR. Qualification batches must be checked against the supplier’s certificate of analysis using the following methods: ISO 1133-1:2022 for melt mass-flow rate at 260 °C / 5.0 kg, ISO 1183-1:2019 for density, ASTM D638-14 for tensile stress at yield, ASTM D790-17 for flexural modulus, ISO 180:2023 for notched Izod impact, ISO 75-2:2013 at 1.8 MPa for heat deflection temperature, ISO 306:2022 method B50 for Vicat softening temperature, and UL 94 at 0.8 mm and 1.6 mm for flame rating.
Table 1 reports the halogen-free FR PC/ABS class envelope against which tooling and pre-production trials may be initially constrained. Lot-specific values must replace these ranges once the manufacturer’s data sheet is obtained.

Specification compliance cannot be separated from drying and melt residence time. Polycarbonate domains undergo hydrolytic degradation when free moisture exceeds approximately 0.02 % by mass at melt processing temperatures. For halogen-free FR PC/ABS compounds, supplier processing guidelines for the class typically specify dehumidifying hopper drying at 80 °C to 100 °C for 3 h to 4 h, with a dryer outlet dew point no higher than -30 °C. On injection molding lines operating at relative humidity above 60 %, transfer lines between the dryer and the feed throat should not exceed 30 min of open atmospheric residence; splay, silver streaks, and impact loss are the standard field signals of drying failure.
Within class-comparable halogen-free FR PC/ABS, the melt temperature window is generally 240 °C to 280 °C, with a mold temperature of 60 °C to 90 °C for low-gloss cosmetic surfaces and acceptable knit-line impact. Barrel residence time at melt temperature should remain below 8 min for a shot weight consuming less than 40 % of barrel capacity. When molded on a 100-ton hydraulic injection molding machine with a general-purpose screw of 20:1 L/D ratio, class-typical materials show acceptable melt cushion stability; however, machines with 22 mm screw diameter and long nozzle bores increase shear heating and may promote local yellowing.
At 260 °C and 1000 s⁻¹, class-typical melt viscosity for halogen-free FR PC/ABS lies between 80 and 200 Pa·s. Spiral flow length at 260 °C, 800 bar, and 2.0 mm wall thickness is commonly 40–70 cm. These values are sensitive to moisture, phosphate ester content, and regrind fraction; published spiral-flow data for HS5017HR is limited.
In compounding on a co-rotating twin-screw extruder with L/D ratio between 36 and 52, liquid phosphate ester is typically injected downstream of the first melting zone to limit thermal history. Inadequate side-feed dispersion leads to melt viscosity stratification and unmelted additive at strand die. Batch-to-batch variation in melt mass-flow rate for class-comparable FR PC/ABS is usually controlled within ± 3 g/10 min, but color and regrind level can shift the value by up to 5 g/10 min.
Moisture analysis should be performed by Karl Fischer titration to ISO 15512:2019 rather than loss-on-drying at 110 °C, because loss-on-drying overreports organic volatiles. The accepted residual moisture for hydrolysis-sensitive PC/ABS is below 0.02 % at the hopper throat.
The compound should not be dry-blended with amine-based lubricants or mold releases, because amine-catalyzed hydrolysis of polycarbonate can occur at processing temperatures. Alkaline mold cleaners and prolonged contact with hot water above 80 °C should also be avoided unless validated on the production tool.
Halogen-free flame retardancy in PC/ABS alloys typically relies on phosphate ester or phosphazene chemistry. Phosphate esters reduce the melt viscosity of the PC phase at processing temperatures but also reduce heat deflection temperature and can plasticize the ABS phase. A grade designated as heat-resistant must offset this plasticization through polycarbonate molecular weight selection, reduced phosphate ester concentration, or a char-promoting synergist. The resulting balance is measured by ISO 75-2:2013 and ISO 306:2022, not by nominal FR additive loading.
In flame propagation tests according to UL 94, a V-0 classification at 1.6 mm requires that after-flame time for each specimen is ≤ 10 s, total after-flame time for five specimens is ≤ 50 s, and no ignited cotton indicator is observed. Class-comparable halogen-free FR PC/ABS grades achieve this through intumescent char formation, which insulates the underlying polymer and dilutes combustible gases. The performance is thickness-dependent; a V-0 rating at 0.8 mm is more difficult than at 1.6 mm because the thinner section reduces char volume per unit area and increases heat flux to the unburnt layer.
For electrical enclosure applications, comparative tracking index is often specified under IEC 60112:2020. Halogen-free FR PC/ABS grades typically deliver CTI values in the range 250–600 V, depending on the flame-retardant package; phosphate-loaded grades tend toward the lower end because phosphorus-containing char layers can promote surface leakage paths under combined voltage and electrolyte contamination. Unmodified FR PC/ABS is electrically insulating; surface resistivity measured by IEC 62631-3-2:2016 typically falls between 1014 and 1016 Ω. The specific CTI and surface resistivity values for HS5017HR are not available from public data and must be requested as supplementary test certificates.
Exposure to UV light and high humidity causes polycarbonate molecular weight loss and surface micro-cracking in FR PC/ABS parts. For outdoor or condensation-prone applications, evaluation under ISO 4892-2:2023 or ASTM D4329-21 is required. Standard black and dark gray color concentrates with carbon black above 2.0 wt% provide surface UV screening; lighter colors may require UV stabilizer concentrates. Published data for this specific configuration is limited.
Thin-wall charger housings with wall thickness 1.0–1.6 mm represent the primary production target for this grade class. Mold flow length should be validated with spiral-flow measurements under ISO 1133-1:2022 conditions, but injection speed profiles must be limited to avoid jetting at gate velocities above 300 m/s. On a single-cavity cold-runner tool with a rectangular edge gate, filling pressures for class-typical materials typically peak between 700 and 1200 bar. Hot-runner manifold systems require external heating with temperature uniformity of ± 5 °C to prevent residence-time-induced streaks.
Battery management system housings and power adapter shells may also require glow-wire end-product testing according to IEC 60695-2-11:2021. Glow-wire ignition temperature and flammability index are not material properties alone; they depend on wall thickness, reinforcement ribs, and terminal distance. Therefore, a material that passes UL 94 V-0 at 1.6 mm may still fail an end-product glow-wire test if the design creates localized heat paths. Tooling trials must include the final production color and regrind ratio, because regrind above 20–30 % by weight can reduce char integrity and increase melt viscosity variation.
For insert-molded electrical contacts, the low melt viscosity of FR PC/ABS can be used to encapsulate brass or phosphor bronze terminals without excessive insert shift. Inserts should be preheated to 80 °C to 120 °C to reduce thermal shock. Parts molded under these conditions show lower residual stress when annealed at 90 °C to 100 °C for 1 h, but annealing is not a substitute for moisture control.
EV charging connector shells and power distribution housings may require outdoor suitability under UL 746C and ultraviolet conditioning to ASTM D2565-23. Halogen-free FR PC/ABS can be used where the maximum continuous use temperature is below the relative thermal index listed on the supplier’s UL 746B program. If HS5017HR has not been evaluated under UL 746B, the end application cannot cite an RTI without additional long-term thermal aging data.
In multi-gate tools, knit-line impact is the primary mechanical failure mode. Class-comparable FR PC/ABS can retain 20–40 % of unnotched impact strength in knit-line regions when melt fronts meet at high temperature and pressure. Sequential valve gating improves knit-line strength but increases tooling cost and requires a controller with open-to-close timing accuracy of ± 0.05 s.
Halogenated brominated FR PC/ABS compounds historically achieve V-0 at lower addition levels and often retain lower melt viscosity at 260 °C. The trade-off is environmental compliance: brominated diphenyl ether restrictions under RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and waste electrical equipment regulations have shifted consumer-electronics programs toward halogen-free formulations. Halogen-free grades typically require higher phosphorus loadings, which raises density from approximately 1.10–1.14 g/cm³ in general-purpose PC/ABS to 1.17–1.21 g/cm³ in the FR class. The higher density must be included in part mass and logistics calculations.
Against mineral-filled FR PC/ABS, an unfilled HS5017HR-class material is expected to show lower flexural modulus but higher notched Izod impact and better weld-line strength. Mineral-filled systems can reach HDT values above 120 °C under 1.8 MPa but often sacrifice surface quality and density. If HS5017HR is an unfilled heat-resistant grade, its position is between general-purpose PC/ABS and mineral-filled FR PC/ABS: higher HDT than the former, lower modulus than the latter. Confirm this positioning against the actual datasheet before tool steel is cut.
In applications requiring electroplating or laser direct structuring, halogen-free FR additives can interfere with surface activation. Plating adhesion measured by ISO 2819:2018 thermal shock or pull-off tests should be validated on the exact grade. Some class-comparable FR PC/ABS materials show reduced plate adhesion compared to non-FR plating grades, particularly at bake temperatures above 80 °C. HS5017HR is not publicly documented as a plating grade; if selective metallization is required, an alternative or an adhesion-promoting primer may be necessary.
Table 2 compiles the regulatory verification set required before HS5017HR can be specified in consumer or industrial enclosures.
| Regulation or performance code | Reference document | Typical verification criterion |
|---|---|---|
| Restriction of hazardous substances | RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, (EU) 2015/863 | Pb, Hg, Cr(VI), PBB, PBDE, DIBP, DEHP, BBP, DBP ≤ 0.1 % by weight; Cd ≤ 0.01 % by weight |
| REACH SVHC disclosure | Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Article 33 | Candidate list substance 0.1 % w/w per article |
| Flammability | UL 94 | V-0 at 0.8 mm and 1.6 mm on certified test report |
| Glow-wire end product | IEC 60695-2-11:2021, IEC 60695-2-12:2021 | Pass/fail based on final wall thickness and terminal distance; typical household appliance thresholds 750 °C or 850 °C |
| Polymer marking | ISO 11469:2016 | >PC+ABS< plus flame-retardant marking according to ISO 1043-4:2021 |
For high-altitude or high-humidity service, additional testing under ISO 6270-2:2017 condensation or IEC 60068-2-78:2012 damp heat is required because phosphate ester migration can alter surface resistivity and tracking behavior. The operational boundary is therefore not defined solely by the material data sheet; it must be fixed by the end-use standard, the tooling configuration, and the production regrind policy.
