As an accredited Dynachem ASA factory, we enforce strict quality protocols—every batch undergoes rigorous testing to ensure consistent efficacy and safety standards.
| Packing | Dynachem ASA is packaged in 25 kg polyethylene-lined fiber drums with securely sealed lids for safe handling and storage. |
| Container Loading (20′ FCL) | Dynachem ASA is loaded in sealed drums into a 20′ FCL container, properly labeled, secured, and documented for safe transport. |
| Shipping | Dynachem ASA is typically shipped as UN 3265, Corrosive liquid, acidic, organic, n.o.s. (alkenyl succinic anhydride), Class 8, Packing Group III. Use UN-approved corrosive-resistant packaging, corrosive labels, and moisture-protective containers. It is moisture-sensitive, so keep sealed and dry. Follow the current SDS and applicable DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations. |
| Storage | Store Dynachem ASA in its original, tightly closed, labeled container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Protect from heat, direct sunlight, freezing, and moisture. Keep away from ignition sources, oxidizers, acids, bases, and incompatible materials. Use secondary containment where required. Ensure containers are clearly marked, inspect regularly for leaks or damage, and follow the manufacturer’s SDS and local regulations. |
| Shelf Life | Dynachem ASA shelf life is typically 12 months in the original sealed container, stored at recommended temperature away from light and moisture. |
In high-volume PVC window profile coextrusion, Dynachem ASA is metered as a weatherable cap layer over rigid PVC through a side-mounted single-screw extruder feeding a dual-manifold slot die. The resin is dried in a dehumidified hopper dryer with a dew point below -30 °C at 80 °C for 4 h; when ambient relative humidity exceeds 60%, drying time is extended to 6 h and unsealed feed hoppers are purged with dry air. Residual moisture above 0.02% creates edge delamination and micro-pitting at the die lip. The cap-layer extruder operates with an L/D ratio of 30:1, a compression ratio of 2.5:1 to 3.0:1, and barrel temperature set points from 210 °C to 240 °C. The die is held at 220–245 °C, while the ASA melt temperature is maintained between 230 °C and 250 °C. Cap-layer thickness is controlled between 0.20 mm and 0.40 mm; corner wet thickness must not fall below 0.10 mm because deficient ASA mass at fused corners shows microcracking after 2,000 h of xenon ageing under ISO 4892-2:2013. For dark earth-tone capstock, the formulation uses carbon black and transparent iron oxide rather than TiO₂; if a custom colour is supplied as a masterbatch, it is metered at 2–4 wt% through a separate gravimetric feeder to avoid screw slippage. Heat stabiliser selection avoids amine-based additives because they can cause plate-out and interfere with coextrusion layer adhesion. Finished profiles are assessed for accelerated weathering and impact performance under EN 513, EN 12608-1, and ISO 178:2019. Terminal components include external window profiles, door frame claddings, fascia profiles, and balcony door cappings with colour coordinates held to ΔE*ab ≤ 2.0 against the approved master standard.
Exterior cowl grilles, mirror housings, and fuel filler surrounds are injection-moulded from Dynachem ASA to remove the paint line and maintain colour consistency across multi-cavity tools. The material is dried in a desiccant dryer at 80 °C for 4 h to a residual moisture level ≤ 0.02%. A general-purpose three-zone injection screw with an L/D ratio of 20:1 to 24:1 and a non-return ring is used. Melt temperature is controlled between 240 °C and 260 °C; mould temperature is set at 40 °C for low-cost unpainted texture or between 70 °C and 80 °C for Class A grained surfaces. Injection pressure is 80–140 MPa, holding pressure 40–80 MPa, and back pressure 0.5–1.5 MPa. Mould parting-line vents are machined to 0.02–0.03 mm depth, and tab gates are dimensioned at 0.8–1.2 mm land thickness. In-plant sprues and runners are reintroduced at 20–30 wt% after metal detection and fines removal. Weathering acceptance is evaluated under SAE J2527 and ISO 4892-2:2013 at 3,000 kJ m-2 using a daylight filter and 0.51 W m-2 at 340 nm. 60° gloss retention is measured with ISO 2813:2014 and must remain above 80%; colour change is measured with ISO 7724-2 and must not exceed ΔE*ab 2.0. Notched impact after ageing is tested at -30 °C under ISO 179-1/1eA. A recurring production defect at grille cross-rib intersections is flow-line splitting; injection speed is sequenced from 30 mm s-1 to 70 mm s-1 after the melt front passes the first rib, and runner diameters are balanced within 0.10 mm. Terminal parts include unpainted cowl vent panels, sail mirror covers, B-pillar appliqués, and fuel filler flap surrounds.
Dynachem ASA is used for telecommunication splice boxes, small-cell antenna covers, and edge-network housing components that require long UV dose resistance and low-temperature impact retention without painting. The resin is processed with a melt temperature of 240–260 °C, a mould temperature of 50–80 °C, and wall thickness held between 2.5 mm and 4.0 mm to limit differential shrinkage warpage. Mould shrinkage is recorded as 0.4–0.7% along flow and 0.5–0.8% transverse to flow under ISO 294-4. For two-shot elastomer gasket overmoulding, the ASA first-shot surface is plasma-cleaned and the TPE is overmoulded immediately; peel adhesion is tested at 180° and 25 mm min-1. Accelerated ageing is performed under ISO 4892-2:2013 with a daylight filter, 0.51 W m-2 at 340 nm, and black-standard temperature at 65 ± 3 °C. The acceptance criterion for white and light-grey enclosures is a yellowness index change of ≤ 1.5 after 2,000 h; yellowness index is calculated per ASTM E313-20. Notched Izod impact under ISO 180/A at -30 °C must retain at least 80% of the initial value after weathering. Because outdoor enclosures are certified for ingress protection under IEC 60529, boss cracking after repeated IP65 water-jet exposure is checked by dye-penetrant inspection. European supply requires supplier declarations for REACH (EC) No 1907/2006 and RoHS 2011/65/EU on the specific colour concentrate. Flammability class is grade-dependent; standard ASA grades normally fall under HB in IEC 60695-11-10. Published data for Dynachem ASA configurations containing both flame-retardant additives and UV stabiliser packages are limited. Terminal products include street-side splice enclosures, LTE small-cell housing covers, and datalogger boxes.
For marine hatch bezels, deck vent housings, and RV exterior corner trims, Dynachem ASA is evaluated under combined UV and salt-fog cycling because single-factor ageing does not reproduce field delamination. Extruded sheet in 2–6 mm thickness is produced on a single-screw extruder with barrel set points from 210 °C to 240 °C and a slot die at 220–245 °C. The sheet is vacuum-formed on temperature-controlled aluminium tools held at 70–90 °C; blank surface temperature is measured by dual infrared pyrometers and maintained at 160–180 °C before forming. Thermoformed parts with draw depth exceeding 75 mm are annealed at 80 °C for 1 h to reduce stress cracking around mounting bosses. Salt-spray resistance is assessed with ISO 9227:2022 neutral salt spray for 480 h, followed by ISO 4892-2:2013 xenon ageing to 1,500 kJ m-2. No visible cracking, adhesion loss, or chalking worse than rating 4 under ASTM D4214-07 is permitted. Boss outer diameter is specified at least 2.5 times the screw major diameter to prevent fastener-hole cracking. Assembly solvents such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, and aromatic thinners are excluded; cleaning is limited to aliphatic hydrocarbon blends or water-based detergents. Structural adhesive bonding of thermoformed trim is carried out with a 100%-solids reactive polyurethane applied at 125–175 g m-2. Finished components include deck hatch bezels, exterior refrigerator vent covers, shore-power inlet housings, and RV side trim corner caps.
Outdoor power tool housings for robotic lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers are converted from painted ABS to unpainted Dynachem ASA to eliminate paint adhesion failures on complex bosses. The mould designer applies a shrinkage compensation of 0.5–0.7% along flow and 0.6–0.8% transverse to flow, then corrects insert dimensions after a pilot run of no fewer than 50 shots at steady-state cooling. The resin is dried at 80 °C for 4 h to ≤ 0.02% residual moisture. Moulding is performed at a melt temperature of 230–260 °C and mould temperature of 40–80 °C; hydraulic clamp force is rated for cavity pressure of 35–60 MPa at the gate. Rib thickness is kept below 60% of adjacent nominal wall, and tab gates of 1.0–1.5 mm thickness are placed on non-appearance edges. Regrind is limited to 20 wt% on high-gloss surfaces to prevent localised gloss reduction. Batch-to-batch MVR drift is tracked under ISO 1133-1:2022 at 220 °C/10 kg; if MVR moves more than ±10% from the qualification lot, holding pressure is adjusted rather than melt temperature because melt temperature changes alter part gloss. Impact testing is performed under ISO 179-1/1eU:2010 at -20 °C and under IEC 60068-2-75 pendulum impact for battery-powered outdoor products. Ultraviolet exposure follows ISO 4892-2:2013 for 2,000 h; the colour shift shall be ΔE*ab ≤ 2.0. Conformal cooling in core inserts is specified when wall thickness exceeds 4.0 mm to control warpage. Terminal parts are unpainted body shells, rear covers, grass-collection lid frames, and carry-handle housings.

In solar junction box covers and roof-mounted fastener covers, Dynachem ASA is cycled between -40 °C and 85 °C under IEC 60068-2-14 Nb with 2 h dwell times. The coefficient of linear thermal expansion is approximately 8–10 × 10-5 K-1, which requires slot travel in mounting bosses of at least 0.5 mm per 100 mm of longest dimension. Moulding uses a melt temperature of 240–260 °C and a mould temperature of 50–80 °C; the resin is dried at 80 °C for 4 h. Accelerated outdoor suitability is evaluated under UL 746C for ultraviolet and water exposure, with additional thermal cycling performed according to IEC 60068-2-14. Bosses are designed with raised ribs at 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm fillet radius to prevent stress cracking under screw torque. Terminal products include junction box lids, cable gland bodies, rooftop conduit clips, and low-voltage mounting covers.
