Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 is supplied as a pelletized polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene alloy for injection moulding and, in selected formulations, profile extrusion. The numerical suffix 365 is a supplier-specific grade designation rather than an additive loading or melt-flow code under ISO 1043-1. The grade therefore cannot be specified by generic PC/ABS data alone; exact property values and lot-specific tolerances must be obtained from the manufacturer’s certificate of analysis and technical datasheet. Where product-specific published data is limited, the ranges presented in the following sections reflect the typical behaviour of unfilled PC/ABS blends and are not contractual limits.
The grade is positioned within the general-purpose unfilled PC/ABS class. Specification conformity is assessed according to the test designations in Table 1. The values are representative ranges for unfilled PC/ABS materials and must be verified against the supplier’s product data sheet for Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365. All tests are performed on dry, injection-moulded multipurpose specimens conditioned to ISO 291:2008 unless otherwise stated.

| Melt volume-flow rate | ISO 1133-1:2022, 260 °C/5 kg | 10–20 cm³/10 min | Lot-specific; target may be narrower |
| Tensile stress at yield | ISO 527-2:2012 | 50–60 MPa | ISO 10350-1 data package to be requested |
| Tensile elongation at yield | ISO 527-2:2012 | 3–5% | Geometry-dependent |
| Flexural modulus | ISO 178:2019 | 2100–2500 MPa | Dry-as-moulded condition |
| Notched Izod impact at 23 °C | ISO 180/A:2019 | 40–60 kJ/m² | Standard specimen radius to be checked |
| Vicat softening temperature B50 | ISO 306:2022 | 110–125 °C | Heating rate 50 °C/h |
| Flame class at 1.5 mm | IEC 60695-11-10:2021 | HB typical; V-0 only with FR modifiers | Do not infer for 365 without documented test |
The absence of a listed ISO code in the supplier datasheet for a given property should be treated as a specification gap, not as a performance deficiency. End users should request a full ISO 10350-1 data package for design calculations, because single-point datasheet values do not provide strain-rate-dependent modulus or Poisson’s ratio data required for finite-element simulation of snap-fit features.
Pre-drying is performed in a desiccant dryer with a dew point of −40 °C or lower. Moisture content above 0.04 wt% in PC/ABS 365 leads to splay, silver streaking, and hydrolytic chain scission during melt processing. Drying at 80 °C for 3–4 h with a desiccant bed is used for injection moulding; if the resin is reclaimed from humid storage, drying at 80 °C for 6–8 h is applied. The granulate is transferred through closed aluminium tubing to avoid moisture regain above 0.02 wt% before the feed throat. Hopper residence time is limited to 30–60 min at ambient shop-floor humidity above 60% RH.
Drying hoppers with insulated hopper walls and hopper loaders with dry-air purge of 1.5–2.0 m³/h per 100 kg/h throughput are standard. When drying at temperatures above 85 °C, pellet colour shift may occur in unpigmented grades; temperature is held at 80 °C unless the supplier has validated a higher setpoint. Regrind levels above 20 wt% require a documented melt-flow shift of less than 5% and notched impact retention above 90% relative to virgin material.
For injection moulding of PC/ABS 365, the recommended melt temperature at the nozzle is 250–270 °C. The processing window is bounded by thermal degradation of the polycarbonate phase above 280 °C and by incomplete homogenisation below 240 °C. Mould temperature is controlled at 60–80 °C; higher settings within this band are used for low-gloss surfaces, and lower settings are used for faster cycle times in thin-wall parts. Injection pressure at the screw tip is typically 80–140 MPa, with holding pressure set at 60%–80% of the peak fill pressure to avoid sink marks without inducing overpacking.
Processors using a 25 mm diameter reciprocating screw with a compression ratio of 2.2:1 and an L/D of 20:1 should set back pressure between 0.5 and 1.0 MPa. The material exhibits pseudoplastic behaviour; melt viscosity decreases with shear rate, and fill time should be kept below 0.8 s for walls thinner than 1.2 mm to prevent premature freeze-off. For parts with wall thicknesses above 3 mm, the fill time can be extended to 2–3 s, but packing time is determined by gate sealing, typically 6–10 s for a 2 mm wall. For a 2 mm spiral-flow channel, an unfilled PC/ABS class typically achieves 40–60 cm at 260 °C and 80 MPa. Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 should be measured under the same conditions to establish the production lot’s flow length.
Hot-runner systems with externally heated manifolds and valve-gated nozzles are preferred for large housings. The melt residence time in the barrel is limited to 5–10 min at 260 °C; longer residence times cause yellowing and a reduction in notched Izod impact. On a 1300 kN hydraulic injection moulding machine with a 40 mm three-zone screw, barrel temperatures above 275 °C produce visible yellowing within 15 min of residence time. Batch-to-batch variation in melt flow for unblended PC/ABS 365 should be checked by an inline rheometer or by measuring fill time on a standard spiral flow mould. A shift in fill time greater than 0.3 s for a 1.0 mm spiral indicates that the lot has not been homogenised to the supplier’s target. Nozzle drooling and gate delamination should be recorded if the melt temperature exceeds 270 °C for more than 20 min. High-density polyethylene purge is not recommended as a shutdown procedure for PC/ABS because bake-on carbon from polyethylene can contaminate the polycarbonate phase.
For electrical and electronic enclosures, Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 is used when the design requires a balance of stiffness, impact resistance, and injection moulding flow. Conformance to IEC 62368-1:2023 for audio/video and information technology equipment is assessed on the finished enclosure after moulding; the raw resin alone does not confer equipment-level certification. Typical applications include internal brackets, router housings, and sensor modules where dimensional stability after post-moulding annealing at 70 °C for 2 h is specified to within 0.1%.
For automotive interior components, fogging behaviour is evaluated according to DIN 75201:2011-11 or VDA 278:2011. Typical unfilled PC/ABS can produce condensable emissions below 2 mg per 10 g sample when the supplier controls volatile content. Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 should be qualified by the moulder for the specific part geometry; no blanket approval is implied. In consumer electronics, the material is selected for battery housings and charging cradles where impact after thermal cycling is assessed by IEC 60068-2-14. Moulded parts are conditioned at 23 °C and 50% RH for at least 88 h before mechanical testing according to ISO 291:2008.
If medical device housings are considered, the final device manufacturer must evaluate biocompatibility according to ISO 10993-1:2018; the raw PC/ABS 365 grade is not intrinsically ISO 10993 certified unless stated in the supplier’s regulatory letter. The material is not a substitute for a validated medical-grade polymer without additional testing.
When Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 is substituted for a general-purpose PC/ABS, the primary differences are melt flow, low-temperature impact, and heat deflection. Standard PC/ABS grades often have a melt volume-flow rate of 5–15 cm³/10 min at 260 °C/5 kg; a 365-class material may be adjusted to the upper end of this range for thin-wall flow. If the replacement is from a flame-retardant V-0 grade, PC/ABS 365 in its unfilled form is not automatically equivalent to UL 94 V-0 at 1.5 mm; a documented plaque test according to IEC 60695-11-10:2021 is required before approval.
Compared with PC/ASA, PC/ABS 365 generally has a lower outdoor colour-stability limit and is not recommended for unpainted exterior parts exposed to more than 500 h of accelerated UV weathering according to ISO 4892-2:2013 cycle 1. If ultraviolet stabilisation is required, the supplier must confirm that the grade contains an appropriate UV absorber package; otherwise, the part is painted or coated. Chemical resistance of PC/ABS 365 is limited in contact with esters, ketones, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Swelling and stress-cracking can occur under moulded-in stress in the presence of methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, or sunscreen formulations. Where chemical exposure is expected, testing must follow ISO 22088-3:2017 for environmental stress cracking with strain applied by a fixture or constant load. This distinguishes the material from crystalline engineering resins such as PBT/ASA, which may tolerate similar chemical environments with less stress-cracking sensitivity.
Relative to mineral-filled PC/ABS grades, the unfilled 365 design typically has a lower flexural modulus and higher flow length. Mineral-filled grades may reach a nominal modulus of 3500–4500 MPa at 10 wt% talc, whereas an unfilled PC/ABS class remains in the 2100–2500 MPa range. The unfilled grade therefore reduces warpage-related rejects in large flat parts but may require additional ribbing to compensate for lower stiffness. Relative to ABS, PC/ABS 365 has higher heat and impact resistance. ABS notched Izod at 23 °C is typically 15–30 kJ/m²; PC/ABS 365 class materials are 40–60 kJ/m². The trade-off is higher melt viscosity, requiring higher melt temperatures and more robust mould exhaust.
At weld lines, notched impact retention can fall to 50% of the base material. Weld-line strength is evaluated using a double-gated tensile bar according to ISO 527-2:2012; if the weld-line factor is below 0.5, gate position and melt temperature are adjusted to raise weld-line temperature above 260 °C. Surface gloss of PC/ABS 365 moulded parts at 80 °C mould temperature is controlled to within 3–5 gloss units at a 60° angle under ISO 2813:2014. Matte surfaces can be achieved with mould texture; chemical foaming is not recommended because gas counterpressure can exceed the melt strength of unfilled PC/ABS.
If the moulder compounds PC/ABS 365 with colour masterbatch at the press, a co-rotating twin-screw extruder with an L/D of 36:1 and an atmospheric vent is used for predispersion. Single-screw dosing with a mixing nozzle is not adequate for colour loadings above 2 wt% because dispersion uniformity can vary by more than ΔE* > 1.5 in CIELAB colour space. Post-industrial regrind can be reused at up to 20 wt% when the regrind is dust-free and dried. The percentage is limited by loss of impact above 10% and by visual contaminants. Post-consumer recycled PC/ABS is not interchangeable with virgin PC/ABS 365 due to contamination by immiscible polymers and flame-retardant residues.
Compliance documentation for Dongguan Zhengxingyuan PC/ABS 365 typically includes a RoHS screening report and, when requested, a REACH statement. The raw material is generally formulated to meet the hazardous-substance restrictions of Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II as amended. Testing for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, and PBDE is performed according to IEC 62321-5:2021, IEC 62321-4:2021, and IEC 62321-7-2:2017. For food-contact use, compliance with FDA 21 CFR 177.1580 or EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 is not automatic; the supplier must provide an applicable statement for the specific grade and lot.
| Framework | Test or clause | Scope | Documentation required |

Avoid combination with amine-based additives, zinc stearate, or certain phosphite stabilisers that can promote polycarbonate transesterification and molecular weight loss during compounding. The material is not recommended for continuous service above 80 °C under load, nor for chlorinated solvent cleaning. If downstream painting is required, adhesion must be verified according to ISO 2409:2020 cross-cut testing after a 72 h solvent evaporation period; mould-release agents based on silicone can lower paint adhesion. Outside the drying window, at relative humidity above 60% and ambient storage longer than 8 h, surface moisture adsorption reaches levels that produce visible splay in parts with wall thickness below 1.5 mm. Closed containers or hopper dryers with dry-air circulation are required.
For sheet extrusion, the material is processed on a single-screw extruder with a barrier screw of 30:1 L/D and melt filtration through a 200-mesh screen pack. Melt temperature at the die is held at 240–260 °C; die lines are calibrated to a thickness tolerance of ±0.05 mm for sheet widths up to 600 mm. The allowance for batch-to-batch melt-flow variation in extrusion is narrower than in injection moulding; suppliers are asked to provide a melt-volume-rate range of ±10% across lots for stable sheet thickness control.
