Where Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is specified for automotive interior trim, the grade is processed as a low-moisture thermoplastic terpolymer requiring desiccant drying at 80±5 °C for 2–4 h to a residual moisture level below 0.05% before melt processing, because moisture content above 0.1% generates silver streaking and lowers notched impact strength under ISO 180. The applicable compliance set includes Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH, Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS Annex II, Directive 2000/53/EC ELV Annex II for lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium restrictions, and interior burning-rate limits under ISO 3795 or FMVSS 302; odor and volatile-organic-compound requirements are commonly assessed against VDA 277. In compounding or direct color addition, 100 phr Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is combined with 2–4 wt% color masterbatch, 0.2–0.5 wt% internal processing aid, and optional 10–20 wt% clean in-house regrind, provided that the regrind fraction does not reduce notched Izod impact below the part-specific acceptance value or raise melt volume-flow rate beyond the permitted upper control limit under ISO 1133-1:2022. Production is carried out on a reciprocating-screw injection-molding machine with L/D 20:1–22:1, barrel temperature profile 210–230 °C in the feed zone, 230–245 °C in the compression zone, and 235–250 °C at the nozzle, with mold temperature 40–70 °C; injection pressure is maintained at 70–120 MPa, holding pressure 50–80 MPa, back pressure 0.5–1.5 MPa, and screw rotation 40–80 rpm to limit shear heating. Molded-in stress must be minimized through adequate holding time and gate position because orientation at thick-to-thin transitions can initiate stress cracking under hot-cold cycling. Finished components include door handle bezels, center console side panels, lower instrument panel trim panels, seat side shields, heating/ventilation/air-conditioning vent grilles, and glove-box internal subframes. Grade-specific datasheet values for melt volume-flow rate, mold shrinkage, and multiaxial impact are limited; batch certificates of analysis and application-specific molding trials are required before set-up approval.
Large appliance housings produced from Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U require assessment under IEC 60335-1:2020 for end-product safety, and material flammability classification is determined according to IEC 60695-11-10; unfilled ABS B757U is typically classified UL 94 HB, not V-0, so end-product glow-wire and needle-flame requirements in IEC 60695-2-11 must be verified with the final housing assembly. Tensile and flexural properties are characterized under ISO 527-2:2012 and ISO 178:2019, and restricted-substance compliance is documented against Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS and Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH. For a standard light-colored housing, 100 phr Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is compounded with 2–4 wt% white or grey masterbatch, 0.2–0.5 wt% ethylene bis-stearamide or comparable processing lubricant, and 5–15 wt% clean regrind derived from the same part family; no external impact modifier is added unless low-temperature Izod notched impact under ISO 180/A at -30 °C falls below 10 kJ/m², at which point a grafted polybutadiene modifier is introduced in 2–5 wt% increments. Production of large flat panels such as washing machine top lids occurs on injection-molding presses with clamp force 12,000–18,000 kN, sequential valve-gated hot runner, melt temperature 230–250 °C, mold temperature 40–70 °C, holding pressure 60–80 MPa, and holding time 8–15 s for wall thicknesses of 2.5–3.5 mm. Drying is identical to automotive practice: desiccant dryer set point 80±5 °C, dew point below -30 °C, residual moisture below 0.05%. The main processing limitation is stress-cracking tendency when the part is exposed to unsaturated oils, cutting fluids, or aggressive cleaning agents; molded-in stress can be reduced by post-mold annealing at 70–80 °C for 1–2 h when severe chemical exposure is anticipated. Finished appliance components include washing machine top lids, refrigerator door end caps, vacuum cleaner canister shells, air-conditioner front panels, air-purifier housings, and rice-cooker outer covers.
Electroplated parts based on Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U must satisfy adhesion and thermal-cycle requirements under ASTM B604 and ISO 4525:2003, while substrate restricted-substance compliance remains aligned with Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS and Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH. The resin is charged at 100 phr with color masterbatch limited to 1–2 wt% and no particulate fillers, because fillers and excessive pigmentation alter the micro-porosity required for palladium-catalyzed adhesion; external mold release based on silicone is prohibited above 0.05 wt% because it produces skip-plating defects. Injection molding for electroplating requires low internal stress: melt temperature 240–260 °C, mold temperature 60–80 °C, slow to moderate injection speed, and gate placement that avoids weld lines on visible surfaces. After molding, parts are annealed at 70–80 °C for 1–2 h to relax orientation, then transferred to a wet chemical line. The etch bath contains chromic acid and sulfuric acid at 60–70 °C with immersion time 5–15 min to form submicroscopic cavities; subsequent steps include neutralization, palladium chloride activation, and electroless nickel deposition at 0.2–0.5 μm, followed by electrolytic copper 15–25 μm, semi-bright nickel 8–12 μm, bright nickel 5–8 μm, and chromium 0.3–0.5 μm. Adhesion is quantified by thermal cycling between -30 °C and 80 °C and by scribe testing under ASTM B571; acceptance criteria must be defined by end-user specifications because published data for this specific configuration is limited. Finished electroplated components include automotive grille frames, door-handle shells, sanitary fittings, cosmetic closures, and appliance control-panel trim. Wall-thickness variation greater than 25% within a single part increases differential shrinkage and localized over-stress, and should be corrected by redesign or processing adjustment before volume production.
Where Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is considered for non-pressure drainage, waste, and vent systems, material selection must be validated against ASTM D3965-21 or ISO 15493:2003, because general-purpose injection-molding ABS grades do not automatically satisfy pipe-grade fusion and impact requirements under these standards. The formulation is built on 100 phr Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U, with 1.0–2.0 phr titanium dioxide concentrate, 0.5–1.0 phr hindered phenolic process stabilizer, 0.3–0.8 phr paraffin wax external lubricant, and 10–25 wt% clean reprocessed ABS from the same DWV part family when drop-weight impact under ISO 3127 or ISO 9854-1 remains within specification. Fittings are injection-molded on reciprocating-screw machines with L/D 20:1–24:1, melt temperature 200–230 °C, mold temperature 40–60 °C, injection pressure 80–110 MPa, and holding pressure 50–70 MPa. Pipe extrusion is performed on a single-screw extruder with L/D 24:1–30:1, barrel temperature profile 180–220 °C, die temperature 190–210 °C, and vacuum calibration at -0.03 to -0.06 MPa; solvent-weld joining requires a methyl ethyl ketone/cyclohexanone blend, and joint integrity is governed by the pipe manufacturer’s recommended cure time. Terminal finished products include DWV pipes, elbows, tees, couplings, p-traps, vent flashings, and inspection-chamber components. The operational boundary is explicit: unfilled ABS does not have long-term hydrostatic pressure rating for continuous service above 60 °C and is not a substitute for pressure-rated PVC/CPVC or polypropylene piping. Co-processing with PVC or CPVC regrind must be avoided because chlorine-containing material releases hydrogen chloride during heating and produces incompatible melt domains.
Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is applied to thin-wall electronic enclosures when the end product can accept a UL 94 HB classification under IEC 60695-11-10, and when final electrical-equipment safety is verified under IEC 62368-1:2023 for information-technology and audio/video equipment. The restricted-substance documentation includes Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS, Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH, and Directive 2012/19/EU WEEE. In compounding, 100 phr Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is mixed with 2–4 wt% color masterbatch; if electrostatic dissipation is specified, 3–8 wt% antistatic masterbatch is used to target surface resistivity of 109–1011 Ω measured under IEC 62631-3-2. Where higher heat-deflection temperature or toughness is required, the grade may be diluted with 20–30 wt% polycarbonate to form an ABS/PC blend, but this moves the rheology and drying requirements toward PC/ABS behavior. Thin-wall parts with nominal thickness 1.2–2.0 mm are molded at melt temperature 240–260 °C, mold temperature 50–70 °C, injection speed 100–200 mm/s, packing pressure 60–100 MPa, and cooling time 10–20 s depending on wall thickness. Valve-gated hot runners are used to reduce gate blush and knit lines near boss features; drying before molding uses 80 °C desiccant drying for 3–4 h. Terminal products include network router housings, network switch faceplates, power strip shells, set-top box front bezels, and battery-cover enclosures for handheld devices. The processing limitation is that unfilled B757U is not classified V-0; if the final enclosure functions as a fire enclosure under IEC 62368-1:2023, the part either must pass end-product flammability tests or a flame-retardant ABS/PC compound must be substituted, because adding flame retardant to this grade without reformulation can create plate-out, mold deposits, and unpredictable UL 94 results.
Sheet extrusion and thermoforming of Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U into hard luggage and protective case shells require independent mechanical characterization because published data for this specific configuration is limited, particularly for thick-sheet sag resistance and corner thermoforming draw uniformity. The relevant material-testing standards include ISO 527-2:2012 for tensile yield stress, ISO 178:2019 for flexural modulus, ISO 180:2019 for notched Izod impact, and ISO 6603-2:2023 for puncture impact behavior, while general product safety documentation follows Directive 2001/95/EC and restricted-substance controls under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH. The sheet formulation uses 100 phr Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U, 2–5 wt% color masterbatch, 1–3 wt% ultraviolet absorber/hindered-amine light stabilizer masterbatch, and 10–20 wt% clean edge-trim regrind generated from the same sheet; phthalate-containing carrier resins are excluded from color concentrates to maintain REACH Annex XVII compliance. Sheet is extruded on a single-screw extruder with L/D 30:1–34:1, barrel temperature profile 190–220 °C, die temperature 200–215 °C, and calendered through a three-roll stack set at 60–90 °C to produce 2–5 mm sheet with controlled orientation. Thermoforming is performed on a plug-assisted machine at sheet surface temperature 130–170 °C, vacuum level above 0.08 MPa, and mold temperature 40–70 °C; corner thinning is controlled by plug depth, plug speed, and sheet temperature uniformity. Moisture in stored sheet above 0.1% causes surface blisters during heating, so sheet exposed to relative humidity above 60% must be pre-dried at 70–80 °C before thermoforming. Terminal finished products include hard suitcase shells, briefcase side panels, equipment protective cases, and outer shells for sporting accessories. The main incompatibility is with high-rubber mixed-source regrind; variation in butadiene content alters sag resistance and impact performance, and should be excluded from critical load-bearing shell production.

Dongguan Baoli ABS B757U is an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer supplied in cylindrical pellet form for injection-moulding and thin-wall part production. The amorphous styrenic terpolymer combines a rigid styrene-acrylonitrile matrix with a dispersed polybutadiene rubber phase; this two-phase structure controls impact resistance, gloss, and melt elasticity. Supplier technical documentation places density at 1.04–1.06 g/cm³ per ISO 1183-1 and melt mass-flow rate at 18–25 g/10 min when tested at 220 °C/10 kg per ISO 1133-1. Mechanical properties reported for the grade include tensile yield stress 44–48 MPa per ISO 527-2, flexural modulus 2,300–2,600 MPa per ISO 178, and notched Charpy impact strength at 23 °C of 18–25 kJ/m² per ISO 179-1/1eA. Vicat softening temperature by ISO 306/B50 is 96–100 °C. These values are typical ranges for the 757U series; lot-specific certificates of analysis should be used for final tool trials because colourant packages and additive loadings shift melt-flow and impact values by up to 5 % relative to natural resin.
Pre-drying is mandatory before melt processing. The pellets are dried in a desiccant dryer at 80 °C for 2–4 h to a residual moisture target below 0.05 wt%. At ambient relative humidity above 60 %, drying time is extended to 4–6 h, because the polar nitrile groups in the styrene-acrylonitrile phase attract surface moisture. Melt temperature at the nozzle is maintained in the 220–250 °C band; when wall thickness is below 1.2 mm, the upper half of this band is selected to avoid premature freeze-off. A reciprocating screw with 18:1–22:1 L/D and a compression ratio of 2:1–2.5:1 is adequate for general-purpose injection moulding; back pressure is held between 5–10 bar, and screw speed is limited to 30–60 min⁻¹ to limit shear heating. Mould surface temperature is set at 40–60 °C for dimensional control and moderate gloss. Residence time at melt temperature above 260 °C should remain below 6 min; longer exposure oxidises the butadiene phase, producing yellowing and a sharp decline in notched impact strength. If hot-runner systems are used, shut-off nozzles and externally heated manifolds are preferred because stagnant melt zones in internally heated bushings can create black specks after colour change.
Gate design for B757U follows high-flow ABS practice. Edge gates are dimensioned at 50–75 % of the nominal wall thickness in depth and 1.0–2.0 mm in land length to reduce shear stress; pin gates for thin-wall parts use diameters of 0.8–1.5 mm. Vent depths are limited to 0.02–0.04 mm to allow gas escape without flash. Cavity filling pressure at switchover should not exceed 120 MPa to avoid debonding the rubber phase in the gate area. Injection moulders use cushion control at 3–6 mm to maintain a consistent holding-pressure profile. On electric servo-drive machines, the recommended velocity profile is constant screw advance until 90–95 % of fill volume, followed by deceleration to 20–40 mm/s to prevent flash. Hydraulic machines with open-loop control should be set with a velocity-controlled fill stage rather than pressure-controlled fill, because the melt compressibility of ABS leads to inconsistent switchover if pressure-only control is used.
The selection of B757U relative to other styrenic and polymer-blend grades is governed by melt-flow, thermal performance, and impact trade-offs. The matrix below summarises typical values; they are not a substitute for qualified material specifications.

The matrix shows that B757U is differentiated from extrusion ABS primarily by lower melt viscosity at the same shear condition, enabling shorter injection time and reduced clamp force but lower melt strength for blow moulding or profile extrusion. Relative to PC/ABS blends, B757U exhibits lower heat distortion and lower notched impact at ambient and sub-zero temperatures, but it can be processed at lower melt temperatures, lower drying energy, and without the hydrolytic degradation risk associated with polycarbonate melt processing. Unlike brominated or phosphorus flame-retardant ABS compounds, B757U does not contain char-forming additives and therefore retains the mechanical properties typical of an unfilled ABS but cannot be assumed to meet a V-0 classification. Glass-fibre-reinforced ABS grades have flexural modulus above 4,000 MPa, but they produce anisotropic shrinkage and require hardened mould surfaces; B757U is unfilled and therefore suitable for polished or textured cavity surfaces without the same abrasion concern. High-heat ABS grades achieve Vicat softening above 105 °C through α-methylstyrene or maleimide modification, but they often trade melt viscosity and impact; B757U is selected instead when thin-wall flow is the limiting design requirement.
In thin-wall housings for portable electronic devices, small domestic appliances, and office equipment, B757U is processed with nominal wall thickness between 0.8 mm and 2.5 mm. Injection speed is set high to fill the flow-length-to-thickness ratio commonly encountered in ribbed covers; however, excessive filling velocity above 150 mm/s can induce jetting and visible gate blush on textured surfaces. Mould shrinkage is measured according to ISO 294-4 at 0.4–0.7 %, and tooling should incorporate allowance for post-mould anisotropic shrinkage of 0.1–0.2 % in the flow direction relative to the transverse direction. Screw bosses and snap-fit features require radii of at least 0.5 mm at the base and a nominal wall-to-boss thickness ratio below 60 % if sink marks and stress concentrations are to be controlled. Flow-induced molecular orientation is greatest in direct-gated covers; a fan gate or tab gate is preferred over a single pinpoint gate when flatness is critical because the high-flow B757U melt will retain low viscosity during packing. Weld lines formed downstream of openings exhibit retained Charpy impact values that are typically 20–40 % lower than the neat material; placing the gate to position weld lines in low-stress zones is required. Contact with ketone-based cleaners, ester plasticizers, and chlorinated solvents is incompatible because environmental stress cracking may occur in areas of tensile stress; screening according to ISO 22088-2 is recommended for parts with metal inserts or high assembly strain. The grade is not intrinsically flame-retardant; if an end-product glow-wire or UL 94 classification is required, the specific coloured compound must be tested according to IEC 60695-2-12 or UL 94 on the final part geometry.
Post-consumer or post-industrial regrind can be added to B757U only after rheological and mechanical validation. Published data for B757U-specific recycled-content blends is limited; processors should therefore treat recyclate as a separate raw material and construct a three-level design-of-experiments matrix for regrind content at 0 wt%, 10 wt%, and 20 wt%. Recycled ABS feedstocks with residual polycarbonate, flame-retardant additives, or rubber from impact-modified polystyrene alter the glass transition response and the melt-flow ratio. Incoming recyclate should be screened by ISO 1133-1 at dual loadings of 220 °C/5 kg and 220 °C/10 kg; a melt-flow ratio outside the typical range for the virgin grade indicates contamination or molecular-weight distribution change. Thermogravimetric analysis under ISO 11358-1 can detect inorganic filler contamination above 1 wt%, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy can identify misplaced polymers such as polystyrene or polycarbonate. Adding more than 20 wt% unvalidated recyclate to B757U commonly reduces Charpy notched impact by more than 10 % and can shift Vicat temperature by 2–4 °C; production batches should be cleared by tensile, impact, and mould-shrinkage testing before release for thin-wall tooling.
Regulatory compliance must be confirmed for each lot. RoHS screening under Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II is relevant for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and four restricted phthalates; REACH SVHC declarations should be obtained from the supplier. Food-contact compliance under FDA 21 CFR 177.1020 is not automatically conferred for coloured or impact-modified ABS and must be established separately if the application requires food-contact status.
