CNOOC & Shell (CSPC Huizhou) HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 is an injection-moulding high-density polyethylene with nominal density 0.942 g/cm³ measured per ISO 1183-1 and melt mass-flow rate 5.5 g/10 min measured per ISO 1133-1:2022 at 190 °C/2.16 kg. The grade is supplied as free-flowing pellets and is intended for reciprocating-screw injection moulding; it is not formulated for blown film, pipe extrusion, or blow moulding. Pre-drying at 80 °C for 2 h is required when storage relative humidity exceeds 60 % RH to prevent splay on moulded surfaces. The following application entries are restricted to established injection-moulding downstream routes.
Returnable distribution crates and logistics totes are moulded from 100 phr virgin HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 compounded with 2.0–4.0 phr colour masterbatch and 0.05–0.15 phr phenolic antioxidant/phosphite processing stabiliser; post-consumer HDPE recyclate is incorporated at 10–20 wt% only if the recyclate is traceable under EN 15343:2008 and the final blend retains notched Charpy impact strength above 6 kJ/m² at −20 °C per ISO 179-1/1eA. Processing on accumulator-assisted hydraulic injection machines with L/D 20–22 screws and compression ratio 2.2:1 uses barrel zones from 190 °C at the feed throat to 230 °C at the nozzle, mould temperature 20–45 °C, nozzle melt pressure 80–120 MPa, cavity pressure 35–60 MPa, and hold-pressure time 8–20 s for wall thickness 2.0–4.0 mm. Gates are edge or fan type at 2.5–4.0 mm thickness; sequential valve gating is used when tool projected area exceeds 600 × 800 mm to reduce clamp force demand. Terminal product types include stackable 12–65 L beverage crates, agricultural harvest totes, perforated bakery trays, and automotive parts distribution containers. Packaging waste compliance is assessed under Directive 94/62/EC; substance restrictions are controlled under REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XVII. Stack-load performance is verified on a compression tester per ISO 12048:1994 at 23 ± 2 °C and 50 ± 5 % RH after conditioning to ISO 291.
Closure shells and tamper-evident bands moulded from HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 are produced in multi-cavity hot-runner tools; the formulation is 100 phr virgin resin with 1.0–2.5 phr white masterbatch, 0.05–0.10 phr phosphite processing stabiliser, and 0.02–0.08 phr acid scavenger. Erucamide is added at 0.05–0.15 phr only when ejection friction at full machine speed causes cap skirt distortion; higher slip loadings are avoided because migration into oil-containing foods can exceed the specific migration limit for erucamide under EU Regulation (EC) No 10/2011. Processing uses melt temperature 190–230 °C, hot-runner manifold temperature 200–240 °C, mould temperature 15–25 °C, injection velocity 80–150 mm/s, hold pressure 30–60 MPa, and cooling time 5–10 s for 1.0–1.5 mm closure skirt wall. Valve-gated hot tips are specified to keep gate vestige height below 0.3 mm to prevent lip seal leakage. Terminal product types include 28 mm and 38 mm injection-moulded closures for still water, flavoured milk, squeeze-bottle caps, and snap-on lids for condiment jars. Food-contact compliance is anchored to FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and EU Regulation (EC) No 10/2011; organoleptic evaluation follows DIN 10955. The grade is not recommended for closures on products exceeding 3.5 volumes CO₂ because polyethylene creep under closure top load can compromise seal retention at warehouse temperatures above 35 °C.
In UN-certified open-head pails for water-based coatings and adhesives, HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 is compounded at 100 phr virgin resin with 0.08–0.25 phr hindered phenol antioxidant, 0.04–0.10 phr phosphite costabiliser, 2.0–4.0 phr ultraviolet stabiliser masterbatch for outdoor service, and 1.0–3.0 phr colour masterbatch. Food-contact pails use only masterbatch carriers meeting EU Regulation (EC) No 10/2011 or FDA 21 CFR 177.1520. Downstream production uses single-face or stacked moulds on hydraulic clamp machines of 4,000–12,000 kN; barrel temperatures are set from 200 °C to 235 °C, mould coolant temperature is 20–35 °C, and accumulator-assisted filling uses injection velocity 100–250 mm/s to prevent flow hesitation at the handle pinch-off zone. Wall thickness for 1 L to 20 L pails ranges from 1.2 mm to 2.8 mm; hold pressure is maintained at 40–70 MPa for 4–12 s, followed by post-mould cooling on sizing jigs to control ovality below 0.5 % of nominal diameter. Terminal product types include 1 L, 5 L, 10 L, and 20 L open-head containers for water-based coatings, adhesives, and food ingredients. Dangerous-goods pails are design-type tested under the UN Model Regulations Chapter 6.1 as open-head plastics packagings, design type code 1H2; stacking compression at 40 °C is verified per ISO 12048:1994 after conditioning to ISO 291.
Thin-wall reusable storage containers are injection moulded from HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 at barrel temperatures of 200–240 °C; the formulation is 100 phr virgin food-grade polyethylene with 1.0–3.0 phr titanium dioxide white masterbatch and 0.04–0.12 phr antioxidant. Recycled HDPE is not used unless the recyclate is expressly approved for food contact under EU Regulation (EC) No 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520. Downstream conversion takes place on high-speed accumulator-assisted machines with clamp forces from 2,500 kN to 6,000 kN, mould temperature 18–30 °C, injection velocity 180–350 mm/s, and hold pressure 35–60 MPa; cooling time for 0.8–1.2 mm wall sections is normally 5–9 s. Core deflection and uneven demoulding occur when mould temperature exceeds 35 °C and when melt temperature is raised above 250 °C for cycle-time reduction; the operational boundary is therefore a melt-temperature ceiling of 245 °C for continuous production. Terminal product types include 250 mL to 1,000 mL reusable freezer-safe containers with lid designs; freezer impact resistance is verified at −20 °C using ISO 179-1/1eA. Overall migration testing under EU Regulation (EC) No 10/2011 uses food simulants distilled water, 3 % acetic acid, and 10 % ethanol for aqueous food contact; fatty food contact requires isooctane or 95 % ethanol substitute conditions selected according to the actual packaging use.

Structural-foam pallets are produced from HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 using low-pressure injection equipment with melt temperature 195–225 °C; the compound is 100 phr virgin resin with 0.5–1.5 phr azodicarbonamide blowing-agent masterbatch, 0.05–0.15 phr antioxidant, and optionally 10–30 wt% post-industrial HDPE regrind that meets EN 15343:2008 traceability and maintains notched Charpy impact strength above 5 kJ/m² at −20 °C per ISO 179-1/1eA. Mould cavity pressures are kept below 10 MPa; clamp force for 1200 × 1000 mm pallets is 8,000–15,000 kN. Gas counterpressure or microcellular foaming with nitrogen at 0.05–0.20 wt% loading reduces sink marks at rib intersections; chemical blowing agents require precise shut-off nozzle control to prevent gas loss during plastication. Terminal product types include 1200 × 1000 mm and 1100 × 1100 mm one-piece hygienic flat pallets for pharmaceutical cold-chain handling and automated warehouse systems. Pallet load performance is tested per ISO 8611-1:2021 and ISO 8611-2:2021; published data for low-pressure structural-foam processing of this exact grade is limited, so the processing ranges above are derived from general polyethylene structural-foam industry practice and shall be validated on the production line before full tool release.
In non-food housewares and storage systems, HDPE 4261 AG Q 469 is compounded at 100 phr virgin resin with 2.0–3.5 phr colour masterbatch, 0.04–0.10 phr antioxidant, and 0.10–0.30 phr processing lubricant. Production tools use multi-cavity cold-runner or hot-runner systems with mould temperature 20–40 °C, melt temperature 200–235 °C, injection velocity 120–250 mm/s, and hold pressure 35–55 MPa. Wall thickness is normally 1.5–3.0 mm; ribs are specified at 0.5–0.6 times the nominal wall thickness to avoid sink marks. Terminal product types include 20–120 L storage totes, modular drawer units, hangers, and over-door organizers. Mechanical quality is verified by tensile yield strength per ISO 527-2:2012 and flexural modulus per ISO 178:2019; chemical compliance is assessed under REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XVII. The material is not classified as a toy material unless the manufacturer performs EN 71-3 migration testing because colour masterbatch composition can affect trace-metal limits.
