In blown film operations producing 80–200 µm heavy-duty industrial shipping sacks, Bapolene® 152FP is introduced at 70–85 wt% as the primary hexene-based LLDPE, with 15–25 wt% high-pressure LDPE at 0.2–0.8 g/10 min (ASTM D1238, 190°C, 2.16 kg) added to raise bubble stability. The extrusion line is specified with a 24:1–30:1 L/D barrier screw, die diameter 200–350 mm, die gap 1.8–2.4 mm, and dual-lip air ring; the operating condition is BUR 2.5:1–3.2:1 with frost line height 500–900 mm and melt temperature 190–230°C. Compliance is assessed under EU Directive 94/62/EC Annex II, where combined lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium are limited to ≤100 mg/kg, and under REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 for SVHC notification. Mechanical acceptance is measured by ASTM D1709 drop dart impact, ISO 527-3 tensile, and ASTM D1922 Elmendorf tear. Finished goods include heat-sealed heavy-duty shipping sacks for 25–50 kg dry bulk, industrial drum liners, and flexible intermediate bulk container inner liners.
Three-layer blown film lines running this grade for agricultural covers dose 80–90 wt% Bapolene® 152FP, 8–15 wt% UV/HALS masterbatch, and 2–6 wt% tackifier or cling masterbatch for silage structures. The stabilizer package is selected to meet EN 13206 weathering requirements, with laboratory exposure under ISO 4892-2; mechanical tracking uses ISO 527-3 tensile and ISO 6383-2 trouser tear. Extrusion equipment is configured with die diameter 250–400 mm, die gap 1.6–2.2 mm, BUR 2.0:1–2.8:1, melt temperature 180–210°C, and frost line height 400–800 mm. Gravimetric dosing is used rather than tumble mixing because HALS concentration variation greater than ±15% across the web can create localized early cracking under ISO 4892-2. Finished product types include 100–200 µm silage bags, 150–200 µm greenhouse covering film, 80–150 µm low tunnel film, and 15–30 µm short-cycle mulch film.
Cast stretch film lines running 15–25 µm webs use 60–85 wt% Bapolene® 152FP, 15–40 wt% metallocene LLDPE or VLDPE with density 0.902–0.912 g/cm³ (ASTM D1505), and 1–3 wt% tackifier masterbatch. The cast line is set with a three-layer die gap of 0.5–0.8 mm, melt temperature 220–250°C, chill roll temperature 15–25°C, and line speed 200–500 m/min. Cling and stretch force are measured under ASTM D5748 and ASTM D5459; tensile properties are tested under ISO 527-3, and tear resistance under ASTM D1922. The target pre-stretch ratio at winding is 150–250%; edge trim recycled at 5–15 wt% is accepted only when melt filtration below 250 µm is installed to prevent edge fold breakage. Finished product types include hand stretch film, machine stretch film, and agricultural baling stretch film.
For dry-food and frozen-food flexible packaging, the sealant layer incorporating Bapolene® 152FP is formulated at 60–80 wt% with 20–40 wt% LDPE or metallocene LLDPE to adjust seal initiation, plus 2–4 wt% slip/antiblock masterbatch and 0.2–0.5 wt% polymer processing aid. Food-contact suitability is evaluated under FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for olefin polymers and under Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011; overall migration is controlled to 10 mg/dm² or 60 mg/kg using the simulant assignments in Annex III, with testing according to EN 1186-1. The structure is produced as a 3-layer or 5-layer coextruded blown film on dies of 200–400 mm diameter, die gap 1.4–2.0 mm, BUR 2.0:1–2.8:1, and melt temperature 190–230°C; cast coextrusion variants use chill roll temperatures of 10–20°C. Finished goods include 40–100 µm frozen fruit and vegetable bags, bakery film, cereal pouch liners, and salt or sugar pouch webs.
Flat-die geomembrane lines producing 0.5–2.0 mm sheet from this hexene LLDPE grade are operated with 88–94 wt% Bapolene® 152FP, 6–10 wt% carbon black masterbatch to achieve 2–3 wt% carbon black, and 0.5–1.5 wt% antioxidant/processing stabilizer package. The flat-die gap is 1.5–2.5 mm, melt temperature 200–230°C, and the polishing roll stack is temperature-controlled. Sheet thickness at 1.5–2.0 mm is the main production control because GRI-GM17 tensile and tear specimens require full-thickness coupons; thickness below 1.0 mm is reserved for temporary cover applications. Geomembrane acceptance follows GRI-GM17, with tensile properties per ASTM D6693, tear resistance per ASTM D1004, notched constant tensile load per ASTM D5397, oxidative induction time per ASTM D3895, and seam peel adhesion per ASTM D6392. Because published long-term oxidative performance data for this specific grade in geomembrane service is limited, lot-specific OIT and notched constant tensile load testing are used as acceptance controls. Finished product types include landfill caps, decorative pond liners, aquaculture containment, and secondary containment liners.
